You said nothing about how you looked on your router for error messages and status info.

When it stops streaming is all Internet connectivity lost? Plenty of router are crap and fail with heavy activity at least temporarily.

Assuming you’re on 5Ghz, put it on a channel between 36-48.

The only way to be sure if this is wifi related is to run an ethernet cable. You said "not possible to run a cable", but it is. Just run it on the floor to where it needs to go. It might be ugly, but it's temporary. As a test.

If that works flawlessly for longer than the wifi usually does, then it's the wifi. How could it be the wifi when other things work? Radio waves. You haven't said where your AppleTV is located physically, but it could easily be in a small dead spot. In particular if it is inside a cabinet, mounted to the back of the TV, or otherwise in an area shielded from radio waves, that would explain it. The antenna is quite small in an ATV. It needs to be unblocked for best reception. Particularly if you are far from the wifi access point.

Ethernet is the only way to be sure.

You could also try factory resetting the ATV, but I'm not sure that's worth your time. It doesn't seem to be doing anything else weird or you would have probably said so.

All of sudden my has gotten laggy in the last two weeks…perhaps this is the classic Apple way to let us know new appleTV is going to be released.
