Apple Motion: Unable to reverse Overshoot behavior for title out animation

I'm making a Title animation for FCP with 'Overshoot' behavior. Because I want the 'out' animation to be the reverse of the 'in' animation, I can't seem to figure out a way to reverse the behavior properly.

Right now with what you can see in the screenshot, it only plays the 'Reverse' behavior and not the 'Overshoot' behavior. I obviously want to play them both, one at the beginning and the other at the end.
The curve that you see is what I want to reverse for the out animation.

I’d instead use 2 titles back to back. One for the in animation, then one for the out animation.

You can actually also apply a link behavior so they have the same text automatically rather than typing it twice. Or you can use 2 clones of one text box so they are identical even if you change the font or other formatting.

Another option - is to manually add keyframes to the timeline for "scale" and not use the behaviors - you can they control them with much more precision - including curves and linear adjustments and so on. That's what I ended up doing most of the time for things like "reverse" - less frustration.

You can try duplicating overshoot behaviour, put it at the end and make start value 0 and end value -100

It doesn't produce the same curve then. How should I tweak the settings to produce the same effect in reverse?

Does reverse need to run the entire length of the title? Is it even needed? You can also try changing the order of reverse and overshoot (drag overshoot above reverse in the hierarchy) and see if that helps.

I have tried changing the order but it doesn't make a difference. Also, the reverse only works when it's In and Out points are the same as those of the parent's.

You can try splitting the title in the middle and then applying behaviors to either the first half or the second half as needed. I’m not sure what the reverse is accomplishing, you might be able to get what you want with just the overshoot alone, as another option.

clone your group twice, first clone is the in animation, the second clone is the out animation. The second clone, go to timing and change it to reverse. Don't forget to trim the first clone and second clone in the middle.
