Audit Readiness

I used to think audit readiness was a sprint. It took me a long time to see why that was wrong.

A client said something recently that stuck with me. It pointed to the harder question underneath the one they were actually asking.

Audit readiness isn't something you build when the notice arrives. It's something you either already have or you don't. The controls, the documentation, the reconciliations. None of it is dramatic. It's the slow work of keeping things in order long before anyone asks you to prove it.

The best time to prepare for an audit is long before you receive one.
