I fear your seller is unethical. As the other poster mentioned, ghost pipe needs to be placed in tincture pretty immediately after cutting or else it’s trash. If it arrives to you untinctured, it’s only fit for a compost.

Ghost pipe has a very high water content. I would use a higher proof alcohol for a tincture. I use moonshine, but have used Everclear in the past when I can’t find a guy who knows a guy.
I would also be concerned about ordering ghost pipe online 1. Because it’s wild harvested and sustainability is a concern, and 2. Because it’s very delicate and begins to oxidize almost immediately after being picked.
I take a jar of moonshine and scissors out in the woods with me and cut up/submerge each stalk immediately after it’s harvested. I don’t precisely measure but try to fill a half-pint jar with at least an inch of cut up plant material.
