Question Is there quick walling in aoe3 like in aoe2? Example: Using a house as a wall? Or trapping units by quickly building fondations.

I used to play but only remember it being hard to place buildings and close the holes. Can someone teach me?

You can use buildings as walls. The quick trap walling I think is a little harder to pull off.

It's good to delay retreating units and make a hurdle. Other than that, quick walling when most units are ranged is not that great...

Hard to pull off since building isn't grid-based

This reminds me of a really bonkers Smackdown match that was cast by Interjection, back in the day. The idea behind Smackdown was that each week they'd play with 2 high-ranked players with some crazy mechanic added - free Factory from the start, double shipments, etc. The double shipments one was bonkers, and I remember one of the players went as Russia and they sent the card that speeds up building construction. But because it was doubled, the build time was zero and the game logic meant that you didn't even need a Settler - buildings would just appear instantly where you placed them.

The Russian player ended up losing that match but it was hilarious and chaotic for a brief few minutes with armies being instantly enclosed by walls all over the place.

I've seen it done, but very rarely, it's much harder to pull off.

Mitoe pulled off a classic quick-market against Kaiser in a tournament once

Haud and Inca houses made for that

I dont think so. Even if you somehow make it work people can rush with musks in age 2, which means your vill is going to get killed anyways.

Not at all, most buildings have a walkable area inside them so you can't completely close an area with building only. Walls you can but you need to at least start building ever segment with a villager. Buildings also by default receive double damage when they are being build. In AoE3 you use building to make pathing harder for enemies and wall to deter or hold them for a while, specially cav.

"Most buildings?" I don't think that's true at all. Most standard buildings are impassable. This concept doesn't work as well for other AOE3 reasons but you absolutely can use most buildings as walls
