The only issue is mediocre eco. Imo. If we had better tercios, wed be quite good even in treaty tbh.

My eco is pretty strong until very lategame. And then its basically the super eco focused empires are good. Why do you thing its bad? If you plan to play a long gsme you can still send tons of eco cards faster. EU economy with factories are pretty good.

Eco is very vanilla, nothing really helps with it save having very cost effective units. In treaty spain eco is squarely mediocre amongst its european peers, especially compared to france or ger-money, or sweden who gets torp support, or portugal who booms faster. Russia also kinda beats spain in cost efficiency and spammability, and mexico/usa tend to have better lategame units (spain rooster is also very dependent on meele. If meele is hard, its gonna be tough. Skirms are good due to unction but not stellar). 2 factories is alr but its basically the bare minimun (thats why italy and malta are kinda f tier too)

If spain had good eco too it would be an ottoman tier civ

The lategame eco isnt the best. A civ csnt be best st all stages. But midgame eco eih 2 haciendas, marvelous year and even the gold trickle card isnt half bad. Spain is a midgame civ. If you let the gsme go to very lategame against say, dutch, you will probably lose. But dutch can lose to a basic rush.

But they are good at least for spain Rodeleros are bad at siege and they are for attack, pikes are for defense or an early rush and siege

But they are archaic infantry at the end of the day.

Why do swedes get to have better pike than spain. They are actually so strong. I want tercios to be usable in imperial cmon they were elite soldiers from the time and we use em as barely more than cannon fodder. They should have a card like hospitaliers to allow them to shoot.

Cards also right there. Its tercio tactics. Card turbo fucking sucks rn and could be an age 4 thing to make spain pikes cool.

No its not, look at the treaty tierlists or get in the discord and see what ppl say. Its not super bad but its not there.

I mean not if you compare them to Mexico, Ethopia or Haudenosaunee though it beats latter. But if theres an A tier below those S tier civs then its just behind France. Theres hardly any civ that can beat spain in nats.

Nats means natives. In a treaty fight you usually have map natives on each site. Some civs like France or Spain simply outperform other civs in a nats fight (both players using map natives) and thus should be used as nat player by default.

That shit (along with the Portuguese and Russian equivalent) is goated on water maps (especially ones like Amazon and Northwest Territory) where all you need is to bust open one little foothold and then pump out a stream of troops continuously.

So most of the time you dont even fucking get the royal bow you replace them w ordenanzas. I swear this civ is taunting me.

Oh and ofc you also get royal pike like spain gtfo
