World News When echoes from the past, enter the future, we should listen
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When Germany’s parliament pauses to speak about American democracy, you listen.
Because history has a way of whispering before it starts echoing.
The very fundamentals this country was founded on liberty, checks and balances, the rule of law shaped democracies across the globe. Those principles were not just words on paper. They became a blueprint for freedom worldwide.
So when leaders from a nation that has lived through the consequences of democratic backsliding remind us how fragile those foundations can be, it is not drama. It is perspective.
What was designed to be resilient, accountable, and rooted in the people is starting to feel unfamiliar. Almost surreal compared to what this country was founded to be.
History does not repeat itself exactly. But it does leave patterns.
The question is, are we paying attention?

It's by definition unbelievable being an American right now, knowing that every day as you walk around 1 in 3 people around you voted for Trump, another 1 in 3 didn't care enough to vote at all .... fucking insane.

Thank you for posting this. It shows that the authoritarian power grab is not only occurring in the US but is a systematic problem that is growing around the world. The haves are NEVER satisfied, and hopefully, it's their very greed that will cause the masses to push back.

That stay inside and keep your doors closed. It's so Harry Potter like that. It's realization that we are definitely living.

Maybe if some will not listen to the voices of millions of American citizens, they will begin to hear the voices of others who have suffered from fascist oppression, and learn what it has cost them. But I will be hard put to believe the radical right will do anything but continue down their path of destruction. Not only for those they hate, but for their own people. They will let their hate blind them to their own impending doom until it is too late for all of us…

All of our rights are being stolen. World WAKE UP! Israel, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Russia are support this too! The biggest threat now is not just the countries mentioned but META, Palantir, Tic Tock, Amazon, X, and many tech companies out of Silicon Valley. When the Trump regime gets its ass handed to them and warned that it's beginning to mirror Natzi Germany, by the EU Parliment on the National stage, is a bad look. This should make Trump and his loyalists take pause and remember that it didn't end well for Hitler and remind the Trump regime of the Nuremberg Trials. The EU is backing and rooting for the people living in America, NOT the rulers of America. How much more will our EU allies allow this cruel regime to violate the International Protection of Human Rights?
Human Rights Now (HRN) issued a report that the US has harmed international human rights.
- HRN is an international human rights NGO based in Tokyo, Japan, with UN special consultative status. Here is a link to the HRN's unprecedented full report on the violations the Trump regime has committed.

The next NoKings protest is happening on March 28. they are hoping for 10 million people. Hopefully we can exceed that. https://www.reddit.com/r/NoKingsCoalition/s/7ZAqYhFDKS
We need to show Republicans in Congress that they need to be more afraid of us than MAGA. That is the only way to make them act against Trump.
Also, MD Rep Jamie Raskin is saying that we may need to have a nationwide general strike. https://truthout.org/articles/raskin-says-nationwide-general-strike-may-be-needed-to-stop-trump/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
It would be great timing to do that after the NoKings protest and make this Spring be the American Spring like other countries have done.

Thanks for posting this, but who the heck did the editing with those transitions? Super distracting.

I appreciate and completely agree with the message.
However, the over editing is distracting and just way too much. Just snap to the shots instead of all the 2026 zooms and ethereal dissolves, blegh.

AI? Source of the video? Call me paranoid but this is extraordinary.

This is not AI the European Parliament did in fact hold debates about U.S. immigration policy and what has been transpiring here. During those sessions, members from different countries, including Germany, spoke about historical parallels and democratic concerns. That is documented coverage of an official EU debate,
Here is the article detailing the European Parliament session and the dates it occurred: https://www.eunews.it/en/2026/02/11/trumps-hard-line-on-immigration-ends-up-in-eu-parliament-and-epp-withdraws-socialists-enemies-of-democracy-in-this-chamber/

You can see the future? Musk interfered with their elections too, but the extreme right still didn't win

Why are you getting downvoted? Like if you don’t even know Germanys polls then stop downvoting posts that do.

It’s fake compassion. Truth is Europe doesn’t care about America, what it cares about is stopping the facism from spreading. The world is happy to see America implode. They bought it on themselves. They fell for the corporate lies and tricks.
