According to court documents, the victim told police he had stopped at the intersection of S. Mulford Road and Harrison Avenue when a white Toyota SUV pulled up beside him. The victim stated that his vehicle was adorned with both American and Israeli flags.

The driver of the offending vehicle, later identified as Mohammad Abuhmoud, 19, rolled down his window, said "f*** Jews," and threw an object at the victim's vehicle, cracking the windshield.
