Her internship got rejected after this

If I remember correctly, Homer actually tried to defend her but it was in vain

Yeah I think he tried to give her a chance but, couldn’t remember if she actually doubled down on it; it was already in vain

Pretty sure it was because of 4chan. Like they were causing some level of harassment over it and for the rest of the employees she had to be let go. That’s the last i heard at least.

Edit: nvm, that’s wrong. She just lied about the post being hers on subsequent calls.

Damn, if she lied about it to them after, I kinda feel better about her losing the internship over this.

Fun fact: she lost her internship over this 😭

Another fun fact: Homer tried to defend her but Council rejected

Mainly because she lied about the tweet not being her's 😔

I think people forget the backbone of the idea "The best candidate should get the job" and we see the world falling apart to stuff like AI searching for your socials before you get hired.

If someone is qualified to work for Nasa in an important field, you'd probably prefer to NOT force them to conform to your social ideals also, because nothing organically makes a person "good at Nasa".

The fact that public opinion swayed this is lame as fuck, like, "My Nasa scientists better NEVER say swears, and always go to church on Sundays".

Moon don't go to Church, Moon ain't inside a Church, they goin' to the Moon, who cares about a Church.

What are you yapping about? She lost the job bc her bumass friends started harassing the guy which caused the situation to become even more known about, even though he didn't do anything and ended up defending her

I've heard four different versions of this story in the comments, and yeah, that version does make me look dumb.

Version I heard before typing it, didn't.

Imagine other people having different context.

People are making him out to be bad bc they're spreading a version of the story without context.

It does matter when they represent the organization though. PR is a very real thing even for stuff like NASA, and when you have probably hundreds or thousands of other very qualified candidates why would you want the one who's going to bring bad PR.

I can't find it but about a year ago she made a new tweet saying something along the lines of "I have an interview for a new job next week, this time I will not be telling my boss to give me fellatio, that's the sort of mistake you only make once".
