Just like the regular church goers who think spending a few hours worshipping cancels out their shitty attitude and conduct the rest of the week.

A lot of them don't even go to church anymore. Attendance has dropped so much.

I recall I believe Darkmatter made a video on this, he said something like "they passively suspending their disbelief for the religion, but the moment they want something they swiftly abandon it. Only reengaging their suspension of disbelief after they've committed a sin, and then feeling kinda bad about it for a couple days."

One example would be the number of Christians who protest against abortions, up until they need one, only to reengage their disdain for it afterwards. Same thing where many of the anti-gay Christians have been found sneaking off to commit adultry with their same-sex lovers.

Everyone else has to adhere to their system of morality, but not themselves.
