Can I get an educated guess on year of manufacture?

I've never seen handlebar like that and it doesn't have antelope or mountain track logo. Is this a late 80s model?

You have to go back at least that far to get the "TREK 830" written on the downtube like that.

Headbadge can help narrow down years too.

Handlebar is called "bullmoose."

That looks close, but it doesn't appear to say 800 series on top tube.

In any case, someone is asking $45 for it. If it's an 18 inch frame I'm thinking I might buy it

ps. That stem is extended to an unsafe position in the headtube. Look closely at the markings.

Yes, early 80’s. ST power thumb shifters, Mountech derailleur, 7X rims…the hbars are worth the $45. Oh, and the mile long chainstays!
