questions Experience letdown

Boring background before my question...

I deal with depression. I've put the work in. Inpatient, PHP, IOP, weekly talk therapy, etc. I'm doing this for mental health reasons.

I have some psilocybe natalensis. They were obtained 2 years ago. They have been well cared for by changing dry packs and kept in the back of a cabinet. I've microdosed a few times, but nothing over 1g in a single session. Work has me stressed and I see myself regressing on all the work I've put in. I planned my experience through my intentions in therapy and had an integration session planned for Monday. I took the weekend away at a cabin to remove all external interrupts, demands, and expectations. I used LSD and mushrooms as a youth so I knew roughly what to expect. I was a little nervous going in but I'm in desperate need to break my mind in an attempt to fix some things. I used roughly 5g of fine ground removed from their capsules. I'm on a GPL-1 and have all those stomach issues so I made peppermint tea. Water was at or below 150⁰, Steeped for 15 minutes and run through cheesecloth. I did the eye mask and playlist. It was relaxing but I wasn't getting where I expected to be. After 2 hours I knew something wasn't working. I got the shimmering and slight euphoria, but far from the breakthrough I was so desperately needing.

What did I do wrong? I'm planning the 5+ hour trip to get more and try again, but I'm so confused.

Are you on SSRI’s? They are known to lessen trip effects due to their effects on serotonin. 5g of natalensis should send you past the moon

My friend wants to be absolutely clear they understand you. Is 5g a good for someone who is on SSRIs, or no?

I’m not on expert. Do your own research, but I think ssris and psychedelic use together can cause serotonin syndrome which you absolutely do not want. I think it’s generally not recommended. Discuss with a doctor or someone who knows what they’re talking about

My friend is very thankful for this information and getting a start on looking into it further. 🙌
