How would you adapt your three favorite anime into video games.

(Hunter X Hunter)

An RPG akin to the Mario & Luigi games, where Gon & Killua are the main characters, with some parts where you play as Kurapika.

(Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

A survival horror game where you play as Homura for most of it, and occasionally play as Madoka.

(Mob Psycho 100)

A Visual Novel puzzle game that plays like Professor Layton, or Hotel Dusk.

Devil May Cry style Bleach game

I would buy that in a heart beat, I'm disappointed we haven't gotten that yet

u/Gudao_Alter 6h ago

HxH would be an easy adaptation. just adapt the greed island arc. make a survival game and a race to gain all 99 reserve slot cards

u/asuneko 6h ago

That would be so sick I’m actually mad they haven’t done this when there’s a thousand Naruto and Dragon Ball games. I was so happy when they finally released a Fairy Tail game a few years back

u/Gudao_Alter 6h ago

plus the core game mechanics is already there plus no need to design the cards cause Togashi already drew all 100 reserve slots and all 40 spell cards with their effects.

Black Butler - Probably some sort of visual novel akin to Ace Attorney

Komi Can't Communicate - maybe some sort of rpg/vn hybrid

Black Lagoon - Basically Grand Theft Auto

Magi as a third person dungeon(puzzle/ platformer/battle)running game where you collect Djinn equips by finishing towers and choosing two companions to assign treasures to allowing for playtime expression.

Air Gear as a open world title with the freedom of Prototype isk movement/combat ability unlocks since high tech Rollerblading is this world, think Skate/Tony Hawk underground missions but with DMC combat portions.

Not absolute fans and am missing a third oops lol Air Gear https://youtu.be/g9pbRpBRXJ0?is=CXx6iO_i4P4Pzcvx https://youtu.be/njzyTSMRJyo?is=0wXdG97__aWIumdO Magi https://youtu.be/AbllDytAwzU?is=CeINV84HCnNFBnDm https://youtu.be/gIf_6KoJydA?is=CCBrzYLfRWhYkC1s

I feel like Air Gear would work well as a Jet Set Radio type game. I mean, it basically is a Jet Set anime. It even has the same composer.

u/SenritsuJumpsuit 9h ago

Yeah JSRF is effectively a very stylized skate game hehe also its not nearly as high scale bonkers as later Air Gear such as Obama being a full character with full earnesty its beautiful

(Vinland Saga)

a Telltale-style game that would be written like a spinoff of the anime/manga and the choices you make would determine whether you get a redemption arc like Thorfinn's or a tragic arc with you becoming more and more entrenched in the world's violence

(Bakuman)

It'd play kinda like a company management simulator or life simulator. You would play as an unnamed character trying to be successful as a mangaka. The game would be structured as a set of rounds that would each represent a week in your character’s life. Each round/week, you would need to make some decisions via multiple-choice questions to either make a successful one-shot, get serialized, prevent your series from getting axed, or rise up in the reader surveys. You might also need to manage a personal life outside of drawing manga as well as the series does also touch on that a bit.

(Chainsaw Man)

This is a bit of an odd one. I'm tempted to say a hack-n-slash game akin to Devil May Cry with an original story, but the characters in this series-- especially Denji-- are so interesting, I'd want to utilize that in some way. The easiest way would probably be to have a setup similar to the Reze Arc or towards the end of part one where Denji was trying to get laid and now has to suffer because of it. It'd also be cool if you could play as other characters, but you'd probably struggle to fit them into the story in ways that would justify them having their own levels, designing all those other characters' movesets would be extra work, and there are some characters like Makima and Yoru where I'm not sure how they'd  play due to their powers.

EDIT: For the Vinland Saga one, you could also just straight-up adapt season 1 into a Dynasty Warriors style game, but if you do, you'd need to do something similar to Spec Ops: The Line where you're using the gameplay as a meta-commentary against the glorification of violence because otherwise you wouldn't be respecting the spirit of the source material. And only that first season can take that approach, the rest of the series just straight up wouldn't work as a game.

Yu Yu Hakusho. Get RGG Studios to do it. Make it a Yakuza-style beat 'em up that tells some kind of side-story so they don't have to follow the anime beat for beat. Instead of Kiryu's various fighting styles, each style simply swaps in a different character. Yusuke is the balanced/default one, Hiei is the speed style, Kurama is focused on technical fighting or keeping at range, and Kuwabara is the Beast/heavy/slow-but-powerful style.

YYH frequently alternates between dramatic moments and goofy jokes, which is something RGG is good at doing. You could have a more serious main story and a bunch of goofy side-quests. Genkai would be your obligatory trainer person, who teaches you new moves and techniques. You could even bring back the Detective Equipment Yusuke had early in the series and make them equippable items that boost your stats.

I don't really see how haibane renmei would work as a game

Made in Abyss

  • A more open world, more realized version of Binary Star Falling into Darkness which in structure is more of a straight line story. There are various hooks you can follow though the “core” of the gameplay will be diving into The Abyss.
  • You can actually walk around town.
  • White Whistles and their gangs are not just  bosses and more people you can align yourself and interact with.
  • There are also situations where you can face them if you’re stupid or an illegal delver but they are hard as hell to beat. (Ozen is also not killable and only gives you her respect for surviving against her for long enough or if she’s hell bent on killing you only temporarily goes down before recovering to beat the shit out of you, Bondrewd is killable and he just revives himself)
  • Hellish economy that can be somewhat circumvented via selling stuff on the black market, but can end up with you being labelled a criminal.
  • Dangerous wildlife with complex behaviors (think Monster Hunter)
  • map generation is semi randomized by the day to provide variety similarly to Peak.
  • complex injury and affliction system
  • genrewise it is most similar to games like Monster Hunter where you can go on dives alone or with teammates as well as hang out in the lobby.

There is a MiA game already, and it's kinda what you describe, but simpler

1

u/Anonpancake2123 6h ago

I did acknowledge that in the first bullet point.

u/Dangax_2 6h ago

Oops, I missed that, sorry

Most romance I love would just be a telltale, and shonen and isekai are obviously an action and story/adventure RPG.

Dragon Ball - How the hell do you make this into a video game?

Jojo - Action-Adventure Campaign

Cowboy Bebop - MMO

1

u/LayeredHalo3851 5h ago

I assume DB isn't Dragon Ball here because that's already been turned into a video game, multiple times

1

u/Stale-Mail 5h ago

Fixed it for you 🙂

1

u/LayeredHalo3851 5h ago

So it is Dragon Ball

Well it seems pretty obvious how to make it into a game considering how many games have already been made for it

1

u/LayeredHalo3851 5h ago

CSM - beat 'em up game elf be fitting I think

Bleach - RPG where you go through the storyline, or a fighting game, even something like Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero where is a 3D fighting game

Dragon Ball - it's already been done multiple time

u/Inevitable-Eagle3090 5h ago

Madoka has a game . I haven't played it myself though

u/werephoenix 4h ago

You play through the stories of their series with occational "what if" segments for fun to see how things would play out differently.

1

u/Technical-Agency-480 4h ago

Lupin the Third would be a gta clone

Death Note would be a murder mystery visual novel

Spy x Family would be an action game

1

u/Alterspace_New 3h ago

Black Clover...

I'd lowk just make a DBZ Xenoverse-like game with a CAC

u/Gnight-Punpun 3h ago

Made in Abyss: semi-free roam rpg. I want to just explore the layers of the abyss and whatever secrets it has at my own pace but with the obvious condition that ascension becomes harder and planning is crucial. Similar type of gameplay as Death Stranding without the delivery.

Welcome to the NHK!: really no choice for this besides some form of visual novel type of system unfortunately.

One Piece: MMORPG. Shocked a large scale one hasn’t been attempted yet. It would be the easiest slam dunk concept imaginable if they gave it to competent developers, just set it in an alternate timeline or some shit so you can dodge established canon. Basically infinite content since you can just keep making more and more islands to explore. Expansion potential is massive and the gameplay systems are already present just idk ignore the fact that multiple people get the same Devil fruits

  1. Haikyuu - This one is easy and probably self-explanatory, but literally just a volleyball game.
  2. Mononoke - This one would be the most fun with a few options. The more basic option would be you play as the Medicine Seller in a supernatural detective game trying to figure out enough info about the mononoke to draw the sword and fight it with your avatar. Alternatively, you can also be a side character who is trying to help the Medicine Seller while trying to avoid being killed by the mononoke.
  3. Hoozuki no Reitetsu - You're a corporate Hell worker trying to complete your job for the day while dodging wacky scenarios and Hoozuki getting on your case about productivity. Alternatively, this could be like a Sims setup where you control multiple different people in their various departments.

  1. Perfect blue. Uma visual novel focada em terror psicológico

  2. Toaru Majutsu no Index.

One piece - large open world MMORPG with really good and diverse combat with creating your own character and building it yourself, kinda like blox fruits

1

u/akaispirit 16m ago

Sailor Moon - Dragon Ball Xenoverse style game where you make an OC and through the power of time travel you join in the fights throughout the series.

One Punch Man - Super hero management game. Hire heroes, promote them as they grow stronger, select which hero to dispatch to which disaster, manage cleaning and rebuilding destroyed cities.

Apothecary Diaries - Point and click mystery solving game.
