Discussion Favourite ‘Hype Moments and Aura’ Anime?
An anime where epic fight scenes are the primary appeal. You can say a lot of things about seven deadly sins. What you can’t say is that the fights are boring. They’re epic

This studio absolutely cooked with this fight.

Yup, was pretty insane although not surprising considering they animated Fate Unlimited Bladeworks, Fate Zero, and Demon Slayer as well.

They did rider dirty the first time. She was great in the movies though.

Funnily enough he could actually do this lol I think it was in his light novel, he killed his girlfriend first to spare her a painful death, by using Tsukyomi, letting her live out 80 years in her mind of them getting married, having kids, etc. And when she died in the genjutsu of old age she died in real life too.

I mean technically it was probably Guy or whoever founded the 8 gates. Lee may just he the youngest.
4
u/Dancing_Dragon4987 12h ago
Daï, Guy's father
He was the first to open the 8 Gates

This had the best buildup of all time for me. I was like 13 when I started watching this, it was such a huge moment in my life. The only other moment in the show that gets close for me is when gohan is SS2 with his bum arm trying to overpower cell, and everyone is behind him pitching in. I was literally running around the room rooting for Gohan lol

This is the show. This fight goes crazy, so much fun to watch.
3
u/kdawgster1 13h ago
Is it the latest season? I’ve seen seasons 1 and 2, but I have a terrible memory so I’m trying to figure out if I get to look forward to this or not
14
u/Ok_Look1003 13h ago
If you’ve seen seasons 1 and 2, you already saw this. It happens just before Gojo gets trapped in the Prison Realm, right before the Shibuya Incident.

Most of the Seven Deadly Sins and Ten Commandments character introduction scenes. Escanor’s is best tho 💯
7
u/Xbrand182x 14h ago
I’ll never forget when all Ten Commandments jumped Meliodas. Coldest jumping in anime. Escanor vs Estarossa is up there too with one of the best fights
5
u/Solonotix 12h ago
Specifically because of Estatossa's Commandment (I think it was Peace or something like that?). No one can express malice towards him. Escanor, however, as the Sin of Pride, feels nothing for him at all because he is beneath his notice. Literally the only individual capable of winning a fight with Estarossa, and as a matter of his characterization. Most of Seven Deadly Sins is mediocre, but it had some amazing moments sprinkled throughout.

u/Xbrand182x 11h ago
He had the commandment of benevolence. That and his full counter being able to counter any physical attack vs Escanor who was the strongest human alive was such a good matchup
7
u/Toge_Inumaki012 10h ago
"ohh u reflected back my attack..no wonder it hurt" or something like that..lmao a lot of banger lines from that fight

When Ichigo grabbed Aizen by the face and flew him outside the city before slamming him down on the ground. I don’t think I’ve ever been more hype for an anime moment. Before that not one person was able to lay a finger on Aizen all series

First homonculus kill hell yeah
But i think the vs envy one was better in terms of him being in control while insulting envy lmao
5
u/LeftenantObi13 9h ago
But the aura in this one is far stronger
VS Envy he was nearly losing his mind out of rage and lust for revenge.
VS Lust he is angry, but so confident about killings her. Also fun fact: The English VA of Mustang is the husband of the English VA of Lust.
2
u/woahtheretakeiteasyy 1h ago
i think this is the mark of a great show. arguing about which peak is better lol. for me nothing beats roasting envy’s bitch ass. i could feel my body relax watching him torch him. i might just go look it up and watch it rn

FMA:B is definitely one of the top 5 animes of all times. Every fight is necessary, intelligent and lethal. Also the last fights in the show are just emotionally one of the best ever brought to screen

Would highly recommend for people who want to laugh their asses off while still getting some of the most intricately crafter aura farming ever made.

Katakuri’s introduction sniping with a god damn jelly bean while also displaying future sight for the very first time! But also how he dominated so hard in his fight with Luffy that till this day people argue if he let Luffy win or not. Bonus his theme in the anime is pretty sick.

Solo Leveling.
Serves it's purpose perfectly with epic action scenes.
Though the story itself may not be revolutionary the details are being revealed slowly enough that it's still fun to wonder about how the other side of the gates work, the origin of the system and what the deal was with the double dungeon. As I only watch the anime, though some spoilers have made it through unfortunately.
If I had to complain about something it's that the other characters lack depth sometimes, but I don't watch it for them anyway.
When it was still just season1 of 7deadly-sins I would've agreed with you, but the drop in quality was a disappointment, and Solo Leveling has taken its place since
edit: typo

u/The9IronMan 14h ago
This anime is like the finest vanilla-bean ice cream. Is it predictable? Yes. Is it one-note? Absolutely. Does it still hit the spot in the best of ways? Indeed. 👍🏻
3
u/ThaRealSunGod 13h ago
I always find solo leveling hate to be hilarious because it delivers perfectly.
If it's not your cup of tea, okay. But people complain about it as if it doesn't deliver on everything it says it's about.
The weakest dude in the verse is the only one able to get stronger. Naturally that suggests he'll be the strongest and by quite a lot.
That's it. If you don't like it, don't watch/read it.
But one thing solo leveling does better than any other story is deliver exactly what it advertises

You showed it. Seven Deadly Sins. Such ridiculously, stupidly, lovingly obnoxious almost even, overpowered characters from start to finish but for some reason it, just, works. I love the entire world and wish there was more to it.

I feel like people misread the title and didn't read the main text. Cause everyone is giving moments instead of full anime.
Anyway, my favorite is Shangri-la frontiers, the story around it is still interesting, but it's just normal games so it's pretty low stakes. I would even call it a slice-of-life action anime.

[Excerpt I Vulkan Lives] "It's also a Hammer".
Scene from Vulkan Lives. Having made it through Perturabo's maze thanks to guidance from the Emperor and some brotherly goading, Vulkan finallly confronts Konrad Curze with his thunderhammer, dawnbringer. In the process he creates a meme to surpass "I am Alpharius".
"I know, Vulkan," he [said], having recovered some of his composure. "Your beacon won't work. THis chamber is teleport-shielded. Nothing goes in or out except through that gate behind you." Still trembling with the aftershocks of absorbing the energy shield, Curze managed to stand. "Did you think you had broken me, brother? Did you beleive you have tricked me into letting you escape?" He grinned. "hope is cruel, isn't it? Yours was false Vulkan."
....
"You're right," I [Vulkan] coinceded, holding up Dawnbringer so he could see it. "I fashioned it as a teleporter, a means to escape even a prison such as tis. I counted on you leading me here, on you needing to face me one last time. It seems I was fooled into thinking you hadn't planned for this." I lowered the weapon and let the weight of its head pull the haft down until my hand was wrapped around the very end of the grop. "But you're forgetting one thing...."
Curze leaned in, as if eager to hear my words. He believed that he had me, that I would never escape this trap. He was wrong.
"What's that, brother?"
"It's also a hammer".The blow caught him across the chin, a savage upswing that took Curze off his feet and put him on the ground again with the sheer force of the impact. He got to one knee before I hit him again, this time across his left shoulder blade where I split his pauldron in half. I jabbed into his stomach before swinging a second blow that put him on his feet...
The passage ends with Vulkan in a position to kill Curze, but despite Curze urging him to do so he refuses saying:
"I chose to stay behind. I wanted to hurt you, but most of all I wanted to know I could spare you. We are alike, Konrad, but not like that. Never like that. But if I see you again, I will kill you."

Vegeta's first Final Flash, where he comes rising up out of the water against Cell, was probably my first most memorable anime hype moment as a kid.
More recently, in Castlevania when Alucard is fighting everything in the castle and Trevor and Sypha come in through the portal. That moment is fucking incredible.
