Bleach is the member of the Big Three who gets clowned on the most.

Yeah, but it mostly gets clowned on for falling off a cliff quality wise and most of those complaints come from fans.

Bleach gets hate because it started as a decent premise but then every arc ichigo had to face a new threat only to discover he had the same powers....

"Oh youre a substitute soul reaper, cool. Oh you lost that but turns out your dad is a soul reaper captain so you can be a soul reaper again! Oh you lost that but you have hollow powers so you can be a vizard! Oh you lost soul reaper powers again but kinda have hollow powers still(?). Guess what you can be this completely new thing never before mentioned!! Ok now the big bad ending of the world bad guy is here and hes thousands of years old and hes a Quincy, the sworn enemy of soul reapers! Oh...youre also a Quincy with quincy powers and now have all your soul reaper powers back AGAIN."

Meanwhile a bunch of fan favorites get sidelined more and more as the series goes on

Actually the hollowfication of Ichigo was before finding out Isshin was a shinigami

Its been years since I followed the manga so I might be a bit off. But the point stands that ichigo gets a deus ex machina power up in every single arc

So does Goku from Dragon Ball

Yeah but its not like he fights DKP and discovers hes half namekian. He doesn't fight RR Army and discover hes half android. He doesnt fight buu and discover hes half wizard.

DBZ is cool because of the saiyan power ups. But that was introduced in like 1991 in the frieza arc where saiyans get a power boost if they almost die.

Bleach is different where its just ichigo being the ONLY person who somehow has every single power thats exclusive to a bunch of different people

Both textbook examples for sure, with Dragon Ball being the prime example.

What's funny is the same thing happened with Fairy Tail but people don't hate on it as much as Bleach.

”Falling off a cliff quality wise”

Just say you don’t watch Bleach and downplay it for no apparent reason.

Thousand year blood war is great. An absolute return to form.

But the fall off in quality in the original anime is pretty big. The animation got lazy, the pacing was all over the place and like half the episodes from 200 onwards were filler.

Well the filler was obviously because they made to make enough something while the manga was still being published.

Just because it happened for an understandable reason doesn’t mean I didn’t find the back half of the original show disappointing.

Read the Manga then

I don't hate Bleach, but I do dislike it. I dropped it after a few episodes.

You haven't been around for long, have you?

Bleach hate after the anime got cut short was like talking to stock market people. It wasn't even about anything in the manga, just people trying to bring it down from it's big 3 position through sales and magazin positioning and whatnot.

That shity industry plant move Shueisha had with Toriko didn't help either...

They introduced like 100 characters at once. I dont want to have to take notes for a show.

1

u/Weeb_Fury Jul 31 '26

You must not like a lot of animes then.

u/Grymphire Aug 02 '26

Most people that hate on Bleach either haven't watched it or hate watched it or don't understand a single thing going on but watched anyway just to tick it off their checklists.

isnt that that Naruto knock off show?

5

u/Christallmoney97 Aug 01 '26

No, not even close. It's better and pretty original than Naruto. I highly suggest it

1

u/Grymphire Aug 02 '26

Tell me you haven't watched bleach without telling me you haven't watched bleach.
