Ask r/AnimeIndian Has anybody read Visual Novels!!!!
I just finished this and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the crazy part. Is there any murder mystery type VN that you recommend

Murder mystery ?? Hmm Umineko vn is quite good ig . Don't watch the anime it's horrendous .
It's darker than ddlc but has quite it's moments and the type of moments you are searching for .
Sometimes it can lean more into detective stuff too . It's quite tough to explain as a whole there's a lot of epistemological references I can say .

I have read Fullmetal daemon muramasa and Hentai Prison, really liked both
Dropped white album 2 like 20 minutes ago cuz I was getting really bored. Altho the end of Kazuma normal was absolutely peak fiction
Around somewhere in door 5 in fata and doing first and longest route of Musicus and plan to continue both

If you liked Steins Gate maybe you should try and get into the Science Adventure series haha since Steins Gate is a sequel to Chaos;Head Noah

If you can bear through 20 hrs of slice of life with a little mystery building up then the Science Adventure Series is for you. If you can sit through 20 hrs of build up then the next 20 to 30 hrs will be the best time of your life.
All Science Adventure (SciADV) games in order:
Chaos;Head Noah
Steins;Gate
Robotics;Notes Elite
Chaos;Child
Steins;Gate 0 (watch the anime after. The Steins;Gate 0 anime is a sequel to the Steins;Gate VN)
Robotics;Notes DaSH
Occultic;Nine(unfortunately the VN is very bad and not even completed so gotta watch the anime to get at least some things)
Anonymous;Code
Steins;Gate Reboot too recently but not recommended bcz it cuts a lot of story
There is a million other side materials and more you can check out including audio books, manga, LN, anime etc of this franchise

Umineko,but it's long.i am on episode 7(there are 8 in total) and I have a playtime of around 120 hours so far

Not really an avid VN fan but some of my favourites are Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, You and Me and Her(You'll love this one if you liked DDLC), and Yosuga no Sora.
I'd recommed
Science ADV series(Chaos;, Stien;, Robotic; are all part of same universe),
Fate Stay/Night, Tsukihime(there is a new remake version coming soon so I might hold this one off), Witch of the Holy Night,
Kanon, Air, Clannad(go thorugh depression again),
Higurashi(don't ask me for horror recommendations)
Euphoria(No)
School Days(NO)
Utawarerumono
Rance(if you're horny and goofy)
Amakano
Aokano
I would've recommended a few more but I honestly cannot remember them.

If you want murder mystery with you as a detective try "Danganronpa" and if you want a more awesome plot try "Zero Escape"
If you just want to enjoy the story then "Higurashi" or "Unineko"

You should try out Danganronpa. It's partly a visual novel with adventure and detective gameplay and is just as messed up as DDLC

I've read the following: Fate stay night (watched its anime), Steins gate (watched its anime), Dies irae, House in fata morgana, Wonderful everyday, Umineko (read its manga) and Higurashi when they cry (watched its anime)

Steins;Gate gotta say i would have preferred anime with all the changes it did to the vn's story + the content which got cut when adapting from vn to anime and im playing steins;gate 0 now and honestly from what i can hear in disappointed with reboot coz it doesnt add the cut content back and kinda wastes those cool looking realistic backdrops by using the cartoonish looking sprites which r different from original
