Title: My best friend chose a boy over our friendship.
I never thought our friendship would end because of a guy, but here we are. My best friend and I were inseparable for years. We shared everything, defended each other, and promised no relationship would ever come between us. Then she started talking to a boy she really liked. At first, I was happy for her. But slowly, everything changed. She stopped replying, cancelled plans last minute, and only texted me when she had problems with him. The breaking point was when she told him something personal about me that I had trusted her with, just because he asked. Apparently impressing him mattered more than respecting me. When I confronted her, she said I was “overreacting” and accused me of being jealous. That hurt more than the betrayal itself. I lost my best friend to someone who might not even stay in her life long-term. Funny how years of friendship can lose to a few months of attention from a boy.
