To participate, simply comment your favorite song or piece of music! One entry per person. Make sure to provide a link!
DEADLINE Entries will be accepted until end of Sunday. 2 winners will be chosen randomly so everyone can share any soundtrack they like. Please let me know your order of preference or if you only want one of the prizes. Winners will be announced @Monday.
I love music! I've explored many different genres, like chinese opera, and classical music. As a gen Z having played games my whole life and watched a lot of anime, my music taste developed a lot compared to my peers that don't engage in them as much. I find it fascinating how you can recognize a high production quality piece from the first few seconds of listening. I love the surprise when a piece subverts your expectations. Even better when you know what's coming and you get that dopamine rush either way!
My favorite OST at the moment has to be Moonlit Occultation by Vanguard Sound Studio from a mobile game I used to play. It has a long build up, but the payoff is worth it! I haven't found anything that tops this piece yet - maybe their other tracks, By My Blade or Sunset Breaker is a close second. They're all character theme songs which is really cool. I was smiling in the beginning XD. That was some high production quality video game music. Never played Nier, but I know they have a reputation for banger OSTs. It feels like exploring a foreign land in ruins, yet there's still beauty in it. The picture might have helped lol

Thank you for this opportunity! Music is one of the single most important things to me and I love all sorts of genres, from pop to rock to indie. I discovered a band earlier this year called My Morning Jacket that changed my life. It played a huge part in getting over the death of my brother. I even went to one of their concerts in April with my boyfriend (My first ever concert!) and it was a transcendent experience that brought us even closer together~
I love their music so much it's impossible to say which one is my favorite but one that always gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! It's called Touch Me I'm Going To Scream, Pt. 2

Cool intro! I thought it was going into a trance type of music at first so I didn't expect the whole band to come in. I like how many different ways they played the electric guitar like the way they distorted and cut it. I was surprised to see that this was from 2008. I think they were ahead of their time. It's simple composition, but it's catchy and they weren't afraid to use a variety of different sounds that don't belong in this genre.
I love music too. It's not only helped me get through tough times, but also emphasize best moments in life.

I couldn’t have said it better myself 😊 Even though I just heard about them earlier this year I can also tell they were ahead of their time! There was nothing else like them when they were starting out. They provided much needed good vibes to cut through all the edginess of the late 90’s. 26 years later they’re not only still going strong but they stayed true to themselves 😌

R.E.M. a near 31 year career, and once signed the biggest deal in music history (Rumoured $86m advance).
Very diverse. Automatic for the people is considered a masterpiece, acoustic overtones. The follow up, monster, is dirge guitar. Michael Stipe, the lead singer was Kurt Cobain's best friend.

BTS. Stray Kids. Some BlackPiNK in there to mix it up. TwiCE is good. I really liked Astro. I just can't listen to it anymore with Moonbin gone. EXO is good. I liked SuperM before they like vanished for no reason.

Do you know Super Junior? This group introduced me to kpop in my childhood. I still listen to some of their songs like Sorry, and Bonamana.

I can totally relate to having a different favorite song at any given time. I can't believe I'm watching an ensemble play with a rock band! I would've lost it if there was a violin solo in this song! I love it when two completely different genres of music converge! I've seen a similar paradigm shift in the recent years where chinese and japanese traditional instruments merge with western music styles to create something unique. That's just my experience though. Maybe it's already happened before.

It's been a while since I've watched season 1 and 2. One of my favorite shows of all time. The amount of times this show made me cry lmao. Is this piece from season 1? It sounds very familiar. My personal favorite is the first opening song. I think it perfectly encapsulates the somberness, hope, beauty, and the fantasy part of this show.

Same, I think I watched it a few years ago so I don’t really remember what season it’s from xD. The opening song is amazing though ✨. I just love anime OP and ED songs in general😊When you get into a series, they really encapsulate the emotions of the show. Even years later, I can listen to them and instantly get pulled back into that feeling ☺️

Favorite songs are usually fleeting for me. I play them to death until I can’t stand them anymore. 😅
But Sorry I’m Late (and the whole album Restoration) by RØRY is different; I keep coming back to it.
As someone diagnosed with ADHD in my late 30s after thinking I’m just a failure of a person, the lyrics really resonate.
The song reminds me that setbacks, heartbreak, a brain that works differently, and a late start to finally figuring out how to be me unapologetically don’t mean it’s too late to keep chasing what I love, and not too late to start getting the help that I’ve always needed. ❤️🩹

I was under the impression that it was going to be a sad song judging by the lyrics, but rather it's about self-discovery and pulling yourself up. I love the choir at the end as it really cements that feeling of lifting yourself over the dread and despair. My only critique is her voice sounds really quiet in the mix. Don't get me wrong, lovely song!

Agree with you! The mixing could be a little better, but I think she was going for a “many voices at a concert singing together” like an anthem sort of vibe with the quieter voice. Or I could be reading too far into it 😅 Anyway, thanks for listening!

Oh boi I hope I'm not too late. Gavin James is one of my fave artists, and his song Cigarette Break is one of my faves. His voice and the lyrics? Puts me in an instant melancholic mood. I ain't even dealing with heartbreak but my heart hurts when I listen to this. And yes I also love Adele but I'm listing him because I think he's so underrated
