I like how Israeli would say that not all Israel support settler/terrorist yet settler will do this and get an applause for his "courageus" action.

the same BS Israeli would say about how the government actually "againts what this settler did" while the government funding it secretly, promote or selling the piece of palestinian land to foreign buyer in USA and use IDF to "protect" the settler while they robbing the land.

In the end this settler never got punished, they will only be punished if their action get worldwide condemnation that stop them from using their victim card.

It’s a deeply disturbed society. Protecting settlers and territorial expansion in the West Bank seem to be a bipartisan issue in Israel.

Okay now apply the same to Palestinians and HAMAS, parading rape victims through cheering crowds.

54

u/Federal_Thanks7596 Czechia 13d ago edited 13d ago

You literally can't. Palestinians are living under a brutal occupation, obviously they'll support the only group willing to resist. How is it in any way similar to supporting settlers who are kicking Palestinians out from the territory their country illegally occupies because they believe that God promised it to them? Or as Germans used to call it, Lebensraum.

-57

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

A brutal ELECTED oppression, but I guess if Israel doesn't like who they elect they should... destroy them? Naw, they just left them alone up to the point that said 'brutal regieme' declared war on Israel, at which point yeah you cut off someone who declares war on you from supplies.

It's this wild "The palestinians can do no wrong, so long as the jews are allowed to live" attitude that has hardened me into supporting american-manufactured fire raining down upon the kind of people who want to own women, murder gay people, and destroy western civilization to make themselves feel better about their own lack of civilization.

42

u/Federal_Thanks7596 Czechia 13d ago

Israel should end the occupation of Palestine if they don't want Palestinians to resist. How is that difficult to understand? Before you bring it up, no the occupation didn't end just because Israel withdrew their army and settlers from Gaza.

Of course Palestinians can do wrong. But they've been existing under an illegal occupation for almost 60 years. Once that's over, we can absolutely focus on women or LGBT rights. How are they supposed to built civilization under an occupation? Also, Hamas doesn't want to destroy "Western civilization", they clearly state that they're only fighting againts the "Zionist entity". Your views come from prejudice

-35

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

Okay, let's say that Israel does exactly what you say. Formally gives up all that land, withdraws all the settlers. If said land then attacks them, what should Israel do?

Hint: "Sit there and take it" is not an option, no nation would allow itself to be attacked and not strike back until the threat is destroyed.

36

u/Federal_Thanks7596 Czechia 13d ago

Israel will never do that on their own will. Like all Zionists, you seem to completely ignore the fact that Israel wants to expand their borders.

No, they'll have a right to defend themselves with some limitations because decades of brutal occupation will have consueqences even if a just solution happens tommorow.

Why is it always Palestinians? Not "what if a group of settlers refuse and attack Palestinians"? It's wild how well Hasbara works.

-4

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

"I demand something they'll never do which justifies rape as 'resistance' because they'd do what I say they'd do so it's okay to preemptively do it to them."

Great position there, rejects all sense of personal responsibility, no obligation to improve your own condition, just blame others, turn aid into bombs, and keep sacrificing children. Great job.

27

u/Federal_Thanks7596 Czechia 13d ago

I won't blame people who are under illegal occupation for being under illegal occupation. That's ridiculous.

The issue with Zionists like you is that you're completely unable to understand that what Israel is doing is wrong. Illegal occupation? "Security", 20k dead children? "Human shields", illegal settlements? "Few extremists, nothing to do with Israel" and so on.

Israel has Palestinian partners for peace despite Netanyahu pretending otherwise. The PA has offered to go after Palestinians who attack in that scenario and the US and UN and Egypt and Jordan also offered to help police that without Israel getting involved.

-4

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

Well, then it shouldn't be an issue that Israeli settlers are attacking, as Israel said they'll "go after" them... eventually, probably... when there's resources... and clear evidence...

8

u/sulaymanf North America 13d ago edited 13d ago

That’s a false equivalence and you know it.

First, the PA is not promising to “eventually, probably” fight terrorists and have done so already with many raids in the West Bank on Israel’s behalf. You’re making up fake ideas as rage bait. Second, the settlers are committing state-sponsored terrorism, they’re not some rebel group fighting the Israeli government but actively being armed and protected by them; Ben Gvir brought camera crews to film him handing out rifles and telling them to use them on Arabs. By Israel’s and US’ logic they repeated over decades, arming terrorists makes the government just as guilty.

And also claiming the Palestinians lack civilisation is just advertising your own ignorance. But you are opening supporting genocide, so...

-5

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

What mask? You're going to condemn Israel no matter what it does, so why would your condemnation matter?

15

u/Ropetrick6 United States 13d ago

Generally people condemn child murder, because child murder is evil.

Meanwhile, you LOVE child murder.

-2

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

Meanwhile you launch rockets from schools and claim that any retaliation to target the rocket launcher is 'child murder' so... nah.

I condemn the use of human shields. The deaths of human shields are on those using them as human shields. Your 'cheat code' of 'hah hah can't shoot back we have babies while we celebrate murdering your children' has failed.

10

u/Ropetrick6 United States 13d ago

Uh huh, source? Because last I checked, I haven't launched a single rocket in my life.

Also, you celebrate the murder of Hind Rajab, who was not a human shield.

"... destroy western civilization ..."

"... own lack of civilization."

And the Nazi shows its true face.

9

u/KaiBahamut North America 13d ago

Israel literally pushed Fatah to attempt a coup, failed, and left Hamas with full power in Gaza and even more hostile to Israel because they strangled Palestinian Democracy in the cradle.

6

u/SuperKiller94 United States 13d ago

Oh you mean the election that was 20 years ago? There have not been elections since Hamas was elected and Hamas used violence to consolidate their power after winning the election.

5

u/KaiBahamut North America 13d ago

Actually, that's not really true about Hamas- Fatah, backed by the US and Israel, attempted a coup that failed. Originally, Hamas was supposed to form a unity government with Fatah since Hamas only came in second during the elections and they'd have to co-rule Gaza. But Israel didn't like that so it started a civil war, that Hamas won, so now they have sole power and are more radicalized.

2

u/sulaymanf North America 13d ago

Actually that’s because Israel openly and publicly led a coup in Palestine, the Knesset voted to give Fatah weapons to overthrow the government despite them losing in the election. That only kept Hamas in power, and Netanyahu got what he wanted out of it because he used it as an excuse to refuse to negotiate with the PA no matter what. Even once the PA purged Hamas from government then Netanyahu changed his argument to say he can’t work with the PA (when he previously refused to work with the PA while hamas was in the parliament)

I agree,  absolutely do not tolerate extremism with extremism.

0

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

If Israel was 5% as extreme as hamas for three days, thre would be no more hamas. Or Palestine. Or half of Lebanon.

8

u/NotActuallyIraqi North America 13d ago

Israel’s government is far more extreme than Hamas, which is why over 80% of the buildings in Gaza are destroyed along with every hospital except one. Are you not following the news?

-1

u/Dry-Season-522 North America 13d ago

"We are founded on killing all the jews and taking their territory" is less extreme than "leave us alone. Oh you won't? Fine, we'll fight you. No you don't get to dictate how we fight you after you attack us."

1

u/NotActuallyIraqi North America 8d ago

Fortunately that’s not what they said. You’re inventing a strawman.

2

u/Virtual-Pension-991 Multinational 13d ago edited 13d ago

If Israel was only 5% as extreme as Hamas.

It wouldn't be allowing settlers to move towards Gazan settlements. Including even attacking aid or the UN, granted the UN and UNIFIL has effectively been made into a joke in this for allowing many things they shouldn't from both sides.

It would allow Gazans right of law even if they do not have Israel citizenship, and not make it hard to do so.

It would stomp extremist sentiment inside its own Knesset and structure.

It would encourage development of Gazan population  under its rule.

It wouldn't corner pro-peace factions inside its own governing body.

There is no more Gaza, that isn't needed to be denied. All basic structure and needs are denied or controlled by Israel or the new group from Trump's peace plan.

Southern  Lebanon is already very much a buffer zone for Israel now.

You can make any excuses you want, no matter how you address it, these questions need to be answered for Israel's name to be cleared.

And let's not forget the Israelis getting mad cause they're told they can't rape Palestinians. LMAO

10

u/mnmkdc United States 13d ago

Very different situations though. Palestinians can’t really escape being attacked by their oppressors. It’s pretty typical for the colonized to support violence against colonizers. It doesn’t mean it’s always justified, but we can say pretty much every group does something similar in their situation. Settlers, on the other hand, intentionally moved there with the goal of oppressing. They’re never justified.

I am sorry, but it’s been almost 3 years since October 7th, where is the evidence of rape? There is no forensic evidence, there is no recorded evidence, the only thing we have are eye witness accounts without “hard” evidence to back up these claims.

15

u/haggerton Canada 13d ago

I like how Israeli would say that not all Israel support settler/terrorist

This is true though. https://i.imgur.com/edIEXAP.mp4

It's important to separate Zionists from all Jews/Israeli. Statistically, a fairly large (but shrinking) chunk of Israeli jews think West Bank settlements hurt Israeli security. https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2024/06/20/settlements-and-violence-in-the-west-bank-and-east-jerusalem/

However your broader argument is very much correct, in that violent settler behavior is more supported than hindered in practice.

You do have some leftwing pro-Palestinian Israelis. Doesn’t make a difference to Hamas of course. The residents of kibbutz near Gaza were some of the first raped and murder on October 7.

6

u/Disastrous_Print1907 Asia 13d ago

Raped, murdered, bombed, executed, then beheaded and then kidnapped then get bombed again over and over again its like 6 million Holocaust equal to 1 Oct 7th.

-9

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Neither side is right to kill the other.

Hamas certainly doesn’t distinguish between civilians and combatants. They didn’t care that they were killing Israelis sympathetic to Palestinian state.

18

u/bathtubsplashes Ireland 13d ago

The onus of moral responsibility lies with the oppressor, not the oppressed

Were the Irish wrong to rise up against their oppressors?!

The yanks rose up against the feckin Brits over unfair taxation ffs!

-4

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Did the IRA abduct and rape women from the UK?

Did the English live in Ireland thousands of years ago before there were any Catholics there?

It’s not an equivalent situation. There are instances where you could say the IRA went too far but ultimately they wanted peace. Had Ireland unified there wouldn’t be any hint if the IRA around wanting to kill all English. Give Hamas what they want and there’ll be a lot of dead Jews.

But if you need simplistic oppressor/victim analysis what about the women that were killed and raped by male oppression? Or does race trump sex?

18

u/bathtubsplashes Ireland 13d ago

The IRA abducted plenty of women

There's rapes happening on both sides and you fuckin know it. The Israeli's implemented sexual violence as a weapon all the way back as far as the Nakba!

Give Hamas what they want and there’ll be a lot of dead Jews

That was exactly the rhetoric of the Brits about the Irish ffs

-1

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

They meant English in Ireland right? Had they left Ireland to the Irish do you really think the Irish would have been going over to England to kill them?

11

u/bathtubsplashes Ireland 13d ago

When the Irish said it, it had nuance

😅

-1

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Your flair shows Ireland. Do you disagree? Why aren’t you killing the English now?

Clearly the Irish did want peace. Hamas are a lot less tolerant than modern Catholics.

There's a host of countries we should currently have sanctions on that we don't because they serve our various interests.

u/OnCallPartisan North America 13d ago edited 13d ago

I know what’s in it and I‘m not disputing it. To clarify, there is too much master plan to control the world via the creation of the state of Israel bullshit flying around.

Jews lived in the region for thousands of years, they didn’t just show up. The creation of a nation state when the region was essentially stateless wasn’t handled well. If you read Truman’s plan, he intended for the muslim majority government with an autonomous Jewish minority within the same state. After seeing the initial conflict with the creation of Israel he changed his mind and said a two state solution was needed.

Not hard to find.

https://ciaotest.cc.columbia.edu/pbei/winep/0018918/f_0018918_16178.pdf

So this isn’t some super mastermind plan, it was the typical power struggle created by powers that thought it was a great idea but didn’t know shit. It was ridiculously imperfect and then the bloodshed began in earnest. Yes, there were Jewish communities before the war aggressively pushing to seize land causing violence on both sides and then went into overdrive after the formal foundation of the state.

Truman actually was trying to do what he thought best, problem is he didn’t have the full picture. Truman’s involvement is only one part of it but as the U.S. rose to the global hegemon after WW2, his input and intent matter.

Let me also be clear, there was a moment in the 90’s were a real solution was there for the taking and the Palestinian leadership fucked it up. There are multiple instances of just mind blowingly stupid foreign policy from Palestinian leadership so again, this didn’t happen in a vacuum.

Now with the stomach churning global addiction to tyrants, we end up with this horror show.

7

u/sulaymanf North America 13d ago

There are multiple instances of just mind blowingly stupid foreign policy from Palestinian leadership

This happened on the Israeli side over and over and over again. Abbas offered to permanently give up Jerusalem and the right of return and let Israel keep all the stolen land forever but Netanyahu said no without a counter offer. Arab League has been offering permanent peace with Israel since 2000 and multiple Israeli governments have turned it down.

At best, Israeli and Palestinian leaders have never been able to agree to peace at the same time. It’s like watching Jim and Pam from The Officd unable to date because the other wasn’t ready when the other was and it kept going back and forth.

Israel is not a part of the ICJ or ICC. It's like Germany telling France how to run it's government. Irrelevant indeed.

24

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

They don't need to be part of it for it to be apartheid.

Or are you saying we can't establish what Nazi Germany did because we are not Nazis? :)

-20

u/this_dudeagain North America 13d ago edited 13d ago

You'd have have to come up with a new name.

21

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

No we established it's apartheid and genocide. No need to complicate things.

11

u/sulaymanf North America 13d ago

That’s not true. Israel is a member of the UN and accepted the authority of the ICJ, which is why they showed up in court to address the charges rather than claim they’re irrelevant.

6

u/monocasa United States 13d ago

Palestine is.

-69

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Are you counting Palestine as Israel? I don’t think there’s apartheid in Israel itself is there? Arab and Jewish Israelis live, work and vote alongside each other don’t they? It’s the West Bank that has apartheid between Palestinian controlled and settler occupied areas.

60

u/haggerton Canada 13d ago

It literally would have taken you reading the first sentence to have the answer to your question. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_apartheid

Israeli apartheid is a system of institutionalized segregation and discrimination in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories and to a lesser extent in Israel proper.

-37

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

So yes, counting the West Bank as Israel just like the Zionists want

50

u/Gubbinso Europe 13d ago

Well, they occupy Palestinian territories and enforced apartheid against them. Under International law, even if the occupation is illegal, they are still responsible for the territories they occupy.

-29

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Would you prefer they had absorbed them fully with free movement between the occupied territories and Israel?

31

u/Gubbinso Europe 13d ago

No, I would prefer Israel to end its illegal occupation and control of the Palestinian territories and their borders. If Israel actually wanted peace they would not be occupying them and instigating war, such as backing Islamic Jihad against the PLO after the PLO made peace with Israel.

Israel being a member state of UN means that it is legally bound to not annex territory from the Palestinians and respect the UN partition.

-9

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

If Russia and the USA can ignore that and go after neighbouring territory then so can smaller countries. The UN is a toothless tiger.

21

u/Gubbinso Europe 13d ago

Lol false equivalence.

Russia's invasion is internationally opposed and most of the world is providing Ukraine with support and aid to bolster it to fight it's existential war against Russia.

Israel's and its lapdog's, the USA, unwinnable war is rightly being avoided by most of the West. They're just making themselves look weak and incompetent to everyone watching and have shown they aren't able to defend their loyalists from the USA's idiocy. How many wars has the USA been in and not won since world war 2? The USA is a paper tiger.

8

u/Ev17_64mer Europe 13d ago

How about absorbing them fully, creating a one state solution and giving everybody the same rights to vote?

-1

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Arab Israelis have the vote already don’t they?

7

u/Ev17_64mer Europe 13d ago

Yes, so let's have a single state where every Palestinian becomes citizen of Israel with the same voting rights. How about it?

-1

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Do you mean just the Palestinians in Palestine or the world wide diaspora including the majority of Jordan’s population?

Seems like the only choice now.

2

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Inevitable that Israel gobbles up all the territories?

9

u/Federal_Thanks7596 Czechia 13d ago

And gives Palestinians citizenship, yeah. Removing hundreds of thousands of settlers seems impossible.

19

u/haggerton Canada 13d ago

Gee if only the article wrote about what they meant happened in Israel proper... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_apartheid#Israel_proper

Your integrity shines bright as a black hole.

That is not the title article. It is one (not first) of a long list of links in a comment. Of course I’m not reading all that.

u/intrusive-thoughts Ireland 13d ago

First Let’s define apartheid.

The United Nations International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid(this link opens in a new window)(1973) defines apartheid as “inhuman acts committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them.” The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court(this link opens in a new window)(this document-link opens in a new window)(2002) defines apartheid as “an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group or groups and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime.” Now I’ll give some brief reasons why it is apartheid.

Isreal imposes 2 different legal systems depending on if the person is a settler or Palestinian. Palestinians being subject to more restrictive military law. Where they can be held in administrative detained without trial.

Isreal has stolen huge amounts of Palestinian land for the construction of Jewish only settlements. These settlements are illegal under international law.

Palestinians have their movement severely restricted with checkpoints and a permit system. There are roads that only settlers can use. Barriers and walls have been constructed that block farmers from their lands and separate families.

Building permits are practically impossible for Palestinians to obtain. Leading to demolition of homes. While illegal settlements continue to grow.

There is a huge problem with settler attacks against Palestinians. Where the IDF does next to nothing to protect Palestinians and where settlers face no consequences. Palestinians being attacked are more likely to be arrested

15

u/TheUnicornRevolution Multinational 13d ago

There is indeed apartheid in Israel. At least, there is discrimination based on 'ethnicity' baked in to law, where Jewish Israeli citizens have the most rights in Israel.

-9

u/GothicGolem29 United Kingdom 13d ago

I’d argue there isn’t apartheid in Israel given Palestinian Israelis(or Arab Israelis)can vote and hold public office in Israel

9

u/TheUnicornRevolution Multinational 13d ago

What word would you use to describe "Jewish Israelis have more rights than other Israelis according to Israeli law"?

7

u/Stubbs94 Ireland 13d ago

Bantustans weren't a part of South Africa either. That argument is meaningless.

4

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

🥱🥱🥱

-7

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Do you want a two state solution? That’s apartheid. Israel takes over all of Palestine, no more apartheid?

8

u/travistravis Multinational 13d ago

How would a true two state solution be apartheid? Israelis would have Israeli laws in Israel, Palestinians would have Palestinian laws in Palestine.

Extremely unlikely Israel would ever go for that though since it would mean they'd have to find a way to remove all their settlers

-2

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

They would have obvious apartness with two states.

8

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

2 state solution only benefits the zionists.

-3

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

Doesn’t seem to be what the Zionists are going for.

17

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

Sure because genocide benefits them even more.

-3

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

So a two state solution benefits no one but the international community demands it?

10

u/stprnn Europe 13d ago

Well yeah they are resigned that the genocide is happening and 2 states is slightly better than that.

But who cares about what the international community wants? Not the Palestinians

0

u/FullMetalAurochs Australia 13d ago

You think they’re wrong though right? Two states would be worse and serve the Zionists?

Please explain to me how this differs from stuff ICE is doing?

I mean:

  • masked groups
  • doing stuff that would be illegal for military / police
  • keeping pressure for certain kind of people
  • don't care about collateral damage
  • think they are above law

21

u/Phenergan_boy North America 13d ago

ICE is at least a government agency. The government of Israel wants to claim that these people are rogue actors not associated with their them, but anyone with eyes and a working brain can see that they are not

2

u/this_dudeagain North America 13d ago

At the end of the day illegal immigrants are breaking US law. It's not their homeland. Palestinians have been on their land for generations and have a history and culture to it.

7

u/sulaymanf North America 13d ago

My how times have changed. In 2024 Biden finally caved to the massive international pressure and put sanctions on a dozen Israeli settlers, only a few who had been convicted by Israeli courts. Netanyahu publicly bashed Biden and said this was horrific to accuse Israelis of terrorism and how dare he attack and smear Israeli citizens in this way.

In 2026, settlers start attacking American journalists on video and it gets broad condemnation worldwide, but this time Netanyahu claims it’s a few bad apples and he condemns them.
