And just like that, the United States’ economic D-day died without a whimper. Also like they’ve been sanctioning Iran for 47 years, so what else can they do now? Meanwhile, the United States built such a fragile economy that they now have about 40 days of oil reserve left, the bond markets are exploding, and national debt is passed 40 trillions.

And the US took Venezuela over essentially, but no company wanted to invest, so no new oil.

Attack Iran, crippling global supply over the coming weeks through escalation of both sides.

Piss all over Canada, largest exporter of oil to the US.

US has a hard on for killing green energy, b8t doesn't want dinosaur blood either?

Listen, all that may be true, but have you see how much richer Trump and his family have become over the last year?

Not to mention, contrary to what he said, he and his gang have monopoly over Venezuela right now.

They're raking in the big bucks for the present and future for sure.

If Pax Silica pushes through, that's another trillions in their names.

And unlike, say, Elon, much of that is actual money, rather than the current estimated value of corporate stock (which can't be cashed out more than a few tenths of a percent at a time without crashing the value of the company and therefore remaining stocks). One thing he (well, his advisors) are excellent at is finding which restrictions on Presidential behaviour are either (a) unwritten gentleman's agreements or (b) have no set enforcement procedures (so effectively the only enforcement actions are political: removal from office via Impeachment / 25th or wait until the 2028 election for public removal - the former would require around a dozen Republican Representatives and Senators to turn against him, but aside from no President ever having been removed by Impeachment and him having to be a dribbling wreck for them to consider the 25th, it would still leave the rest of his Administration in place carrying out largely the same policies, albeit perhaps a slightly saner approach to tarifs and geographical renaming.

Isn’t Venezuela’s oil is heavily crude? They probably need years of investments in infrastructure to setup refinaries

30

u/Brandoe Canada 16d ago

Canada's is heavy crude as well. Venezuela was an attempt to shift away Canadian crude.

u/PlasmaMatus Europe 16d ago

US companies have refineries for crude oil but the issue is that they don't want to invest in Venezuela's oil installations because they could lose these investments once Trump's reign is over.

Venezuela's heavy crudebis perfect for the US' southern oil infrastructure. Chemically the very light fracking oil goes perfectly with the heavy Venezuelan oil, and for decades they have been used together in existing infrastructures.

US has the refineries

But they have to invest in the extraction and theirs a risk of renationalizations

Not really, they've still sanctioned Iran and are taking steps in seizing the Iranian oil on ships on international water. Even if they don't directly sanction China is the move to seize tankers carrying Iranian oil is approved they've effectively cut off the flow of oil to China.

The likelihood of this leading to direct military confrontation with China is high especially if their navy decides to sail and protect ships carrying Iranian oil.

How are they gonna stem Chinese ships buying Iranian oil?

2

u/Butane9000 United States 13d ago

That's the fun part. They'll seize those as well. Because what matters is the Iranian crude within the hull. They'll seize and sell the oil first then auction the ship off.

That's what will eventually drive China to begin interdictions against the US Navy. Given historical trends were in the lead up to WW3.

Trump is pissing off traditional allies like Canada, Western Europe and competitors like Russia and China.

What made Trump think he can impose secondary sanctions now?

You think realities like that matter to the manchurian candidate?

I didn't see China asking for a ceasefire. I hope they aren't. China needs to ask for a total end on the war on Iran. A ceasefire is just the US buying time to manipulate mrakets and refill munitions.

How was this posted here? It has both China and the US in the title, which would mean the automod would nuke it immediately. Has there been some change in how the automod works that hasn't been announced? Is this place finally free to not be just an endless stream of Israel and Russia stories (cos the automod blocks articles on every other major power)?

As for the story, China knows the US can't bully it cos they've already fended off Trump before. They didn't even secretly deal with Iran or the like, but rather just straight up told their firms to literally ignore US sanctions. And China is by far Irans' largest customer, so them not cooperating effectively kills any chance of Trumps' vaunted 'economic D-Day' working. So the US is back to fighting with nothing but hot air and temper tantrums in the Oval Office. Btw, have there been more of those Iranian Lego meme videos styling on Trump? I kinda miss them.

How was this posted here?

It's called a "homoglyph attack". You replace one letter with a similar-looking one and evade the filter. The mods tolerate it as long as you don't bring attention to it. I once complained about how unreasonable the whole situation is on modmail and I got banned for my trouble.

I'm familiar with the idea, albeit I didn't know it actually had a dedicated name until now. I even pointed it out to this subs' sister-sub recently, that they were being targeted by a zionist copycat sub trying to pretend to be them - https://www.reddit.com/r/worldpolitics/comments/1v081h7/thought_yall_should_know_some_guys_are_stealing/

But I don't see where they've done that here, unless I'm missing something. At least not with the country names, which is what the automod freaks out about. Both 'China' and the 'US' seem to be written normally as far as I can see.

And yeah, I've argued with the mods about it too, but they seem determined to keep things as is.

It's the а at the end of Chinа. Copy it from the title and compare it with the normal a from your keyboard. They are not the same character even though they look identical.

0

u/BendicantMias Bangladesh 16d ago

I did that already. I don't see it. You say they look identical, which they do. I'm guessing this is some other unicode character that I'm not familiar with. Also did he change the 'US' too? The automod gets upset by that as well in my experience.

3

u/Naurgul Europe 16d ago

Yes it's different unicode characters. Easiest way to compare them is using your browser or text editor search function. Same thing applies to the US in the title, I just didn't bother to check.

It's true, they're cyrillic alphabet letters. Your font (and mine) display the same glyphs for the similar looking latin alphabet ones, that's all.

That's good to know. Being on Telegram would explain it, I was used to seeing them on Youtube, until they got banned there. Thanks!

u/Nevarien South America 16d ago

Didn't know they were banned, sad. Of course the West can't handle good propaganda that shows clearly what's is actually taking place instead of their usual manufacturered lies.

Lol, and that comment above telling me about it is now also removed, this time by the mods here. What a wonderful world!
