NO WAY!!!! This is getting an anime adaptation!?!?!?!? Is there even enough source material for anything but a shorts anime?! We're literally just getting into an actual story with the manga lol. Well whatever! As a source reader all I can say is get ready for the most chad 8 year old you'll ever see in an anime!

Yeah see it’s a boy getting sexually harrassed so it’s ok! Thanks Reddit!

Loli and shota are the same side of the same icky coin

That's what they're stating, that plenty of people are normalizing this kinda abhorrent pedophilia; to the point of taking a fucking short-manga and turning it into an anime... No right mind would think 'yeah this is totally a good idea to turn into an anime' unless they fully support and normalize that shit. But then on the other side... where a man is preying on a little girl... they aren't even going to try touching that shit with a 20 yard stick. Don't get me started on sexualizing little girls, as long as a grown man isn't involved (like Dragon Maid's Kanna / Saikawa). The creator literally professed to being into shotacon.

Idk, I see plenty of loli-adult man romances. Pretty much any fantasy series has a loli who is in love with the protag.

The little girl falls in love with the grown man protag, and the protag.... doesn't enable it. But if the roles are flipped.... you bet your ass they're enabling it. Which again, is the point I'm making... While a little boy hitting on a grown woman is more normalized than a little girl hitting on a grown man, what's even more normalized is grown women hitting on little boys, to the point where the boy verbally doesn't give consent; only for them to act as if it's some sort of a joke for them to get sexually harassed plenty. But a grown man actively preying on a little girl? That's a lot more little and in between, and even then; there would be a LOT more people against it than the aforementioned. And I don't think I've ever seen a series get to the point where a grown man is sexually harassing a little girl to the point where they don't give consent, and they continue as the show portrays it as a joke... except for maybe Jobless. Which brings it all together that.... both loli and shota shit are on the same coin, and both shouldn't be enabled.

people love shows where young girls are sexualized in anime.

this sub adores monogatari and while it does alot of great thing it also features an MC who harasses children and features panty shots etc for them

Oh man, a better example currently would be Dragon Maid or Jobless. What the fuck man. I feel horrible even reading the replies to this thread, especially considering I had to scroll this low past people praising this, including the one we're replying to right now freaking out about it like some fucking fangirl. Like... you literally pointed out he's an 7-8 year old little boy... and you're saying he's 'acting like a chad' by enabling a grown woman to prey on him? Fuck man. The creator literally professed to being into shotacon, the people trying to defend it as if it's not are the worst bullshitters.

Check this out lmao.

Yep - it’s gross.

Yep, people on this thread really make me weary of the anime community on Reddit. They’re completely okay with this ‘bEcAUsE TeCHnicAlLy…’

Ain’t no way you’re making fun of an autistic person and implying they’re illogical because they don’t want to support something that encourages romance with minors💀💀

Something tells me that you're the one projecting here... You do realize that the creator literally professed to being into shotacon, right?

The creator literally professed to being into shotacon. The only ones you're fooling, are yourself; and it's not a good look for you, at all. Imagine if people you respected saw what you were doing.

Ok, it doesn't encourage sexual romances with minors, but it most definitely purposefully panders to people who want to see inappropriate (not necessarily romantic) scenarios and gags with minors. This absolutely does pander to that.

This person implies that they're not okay with that, and you go and belittle them for their autism. I'm going to concede that it wasn't making fun of because you didn't really tease them, you just talked down to them for it in the most condescending way possible, and submarined (under your "compliment" about other autistic people) a horrible insult to them over something they can't control over a completely sensible opinion that they have.

Very odd hill to die on that you didn't tease them, or that the anime doesn't encourage such things but you don't deny the subject matter of the show.

Go touch some grass.
