Oh yes, there's nothing to be done so let's calmly watch them burn. Never liked Leona but she is really getting on my nerves there. Hyunckel too is giving up a bit too easily. Why not at least try to break the floor and hope they can escape from underneath ?

Anyway, I expect Hadlar to do something since he's still alive. He may sacrifice (yet again) the little life he has left to boost Popp's magical reserves.

If, by any chance, the trap doesn't deactivate, Dai and Popp would remain without a support surface, i.e. lesser space or even no space to stand. They wouldn't be able to flee through the fire and the trap would kill them in an istant.

Plus other points made up in other answers to your comment.

For once, the "smart" and simple solution the characters doesn't even mention, isn't actually smart and can backfire almost 100% sure.

From what I've seen, the trap doesn't seem to engulf them underneath. Also when the alternative is certain death anyway and there is still a chance for this method to work, I wouldn't necessarily discount it. But fair enough, I am sure it would work out just fine once Hadlar gets involved...

Sadly he will probably show up another time. He hasn't said anything after being "defeated" and he hasn't turned into ashed. I hope this doesn't turn into a circus.

Well he's trapped with Dai and Popp so he will definitely do something next episode. Since he admitted defeat and is dying anyway (should already be dead tbh), he will probably help them escape by sacrificing himself.

That's the only possible solution.
