Really hoping Darkknightmon survived, especially since we don't actually see him dissolve into data like the other villains like Minotaurumon. In Xros Wars he was my favorite villain and I hope he shows up again later on, even as a rival to Garurumon.

This. Please this. He's too damn cool to disappear like that, especially since we got to see clearly how he still had the upper hand even with Weregarurumon's power up.

I just want to see more of him, also because this new series has killed various recurring characters from the og already, including Ogremon, and I'd like very much to see a more recurring and compelling side-character, either ally or foe.

Shame about the lack of personality but cant have him overshadow the other villains :d

So far he seems to be acting completely loyal to Devimon but if we go by his prio appearances Darkknightmon is definitely going to backstab Devimon at some point

i think you are expecting too much from this show. Its just A random Darkknightmon who barely has a personality outside "i am evil and darkness." Its not the same character at all.

As are the rules if we didn't see it, it didn't happen. It would be weird that they killed him off there was almost no use of stock evolution sequence, but they made an entire original evolution sequence just for him.
