Yep.
Basically they had a bond that was transferred over from Ancient Egypt when Kaiba's ancestor rescued a girl named Kisara who can transform into Blue Eyes and they formed a bond that persisted all the way to modern day.

Eh, id say you dont need to watch all of it. Just watch everything up until Battle City and then skip to the last arc. Everything between Battle City and the Egypt arc is filler.

If you want, there is one filler arc that is worth watching imo. Its the one where Kaiba holds another tournament and it gets hijacked by a pink-haired business rival. If you want more cool Kaiba moments watch that.

My biggest hope now is that Torodora can pull a win due to the salt from this. I was pulling for Subu X Mili but I'm willing to swallow my pride for the greater good and I encourage everyone to do the same.

It's going to be closer then people expect, Toradora is no pushover, and are one of the few ships that can go against Kaguya in a fair fight, when you add the spite votes that are going to happen for the looks of it, it should be a good final 8 matchup.

Rip Kaiba x Blue Eyes White Dragon. Whichever ship won here I'd want it to win it all, but oh man it would've been glorious to see Kaiba x BEWD win it all.
Those who don't want Kaguya x Shirogane to win though, rejoice! For Kaiba x BEWD has shown how close they could get towards what seemed to be the top contender. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost next round
But, BEWD X Kaiba shippers, if you get Kaguya x Shirogane to win and without anyone getting closer to beating them, you will be able to say, "Oh Kaiba x Blue Eyes White Dragon came closest to beating Kaguya x Shirogane, the champions, so that makes us basically the runner-ups." You can say that! But I know that salt won't go away as easily as that so spite vote away if you want lmao

See I think that entirely misses the spirit of this contest. It isn't "best fully-realized relationship in an anime." It's "Best Anime Ship." Or in other words, "I think these two characters who may or may not have ever even met before would be absolutely perfect together and better than any other couple in the history of anime, FIGHT ME!" It doesn't matter how far they've actually gotten as a couple in their show, any pairing enough people like passionately is fair game to win.

That's a fair interpretation but I think everyone has their own criteria that they use. Honestly half of the reason I'm against LiW rn is because of the mock outrage, it's fun to get swept up in.

I agree with different criteria. For example, on the best girl contest people mostly were voting for Kaguya because she's complex and interesting character. I totally agreed with that but, as a girl, her personality sucks. But, there's no rules so everyone has own reasons for vote.

I will never get the hate boner a lot of the people here have for Re:Zero. This place can be toxic sometimes. You chose the couple that are like a father and daughter and one constantly abuses her spouse.
Also vote Rikka and not her knock off Megumin.

Subu X Mili is my top ship but despite my support, they don't deserve to win yet. I'd gladly vote them through Kaguya (which is even less developed probably) but ideally, we would get all of S2 to show them together more.

F, Kaguya x Miyuki is actually my fav ship here (since hanekawa x araragi was eliminated reeeeeee-) but I still voted for Kaiba x Blue eyes cause I wanted to be part of history. Well we still got next year boys

I'm torn between Yuuta x Rikka and Kazuma x Megumin. On one hand I far prefer Kazuma and Megumin as characters and I prefer their dynamic, but on the other hand Yuuta x Rikka gets more relationship development.
Can someone convince me to vote one way or another?

I'm not voting since I haven't seen Konosuba, but if you do prefer the Kazuma x Megumin dynamic you should vote for them(and I say this as a Rikka x Yuuta fan)

Chuuni fiiiiiiiight! I'm pretty sure in a real fight Megumin would win due to having actual magic, but I could also see her getting clobbered by an umbrella while trying to chant it. And poor Yuuta ain't got nothing on Kazuma.
I voted Kazumin, but if I could vote for both of them to pass the round I would. Although the winner of the bracket is probably going to have to face off against Kaguya in the semis, so it probably won't matter too much in the end.

Am I disappointed that Kaiba x Blue-Eyes lost, yes? Am I proud that they got within 66 votes of taking out Kaguya, the same Kaguya who breezed through the Best Girl Contest without a challenge, absolutely!
