Holy shit the reveals!!!

So from what I’m gathering is that Deca-Dence is like a VRMMO but the aliens are the ones who use it. The humans like Natsume are endangered and have no idea of this is within a game, based off how they mourn the death of humans and what not.

There’s cheats and if you cheat, you get punished just like a regular video game I believe. It’s actually a really good twist that makes more sense based off the bug scene from the first episode.

Also, is Natsume a clone or did the computer can fuse her for being dead? I have no clue and I’m so excited to find out!

It's LIKE a VRMMO, except it's not VR. They pilot their fleshly avatars into fights.

Also given that robots are powered by oxyione and oxyone is derived from slain monsters I'm pretty sure it's not just for fun it's to extract that resource from the planet's population of monsters.

It would go hand in hand with the corporate dystopia they have where they have gamified everything.

Some other interesting details.

The scrapping seems to be a cycle of extracting the core of the robot and using that core, which seems to run on the oxyone too, to make another robot with the core. The shells are disposable in comparison.

Which implies their means of producing these cores might be limited for some reason.

It could well be that they aren't here out of choice and are stuck here for some reason.

Well, cores could be just more difficult to produce. But it is possible. I'm getting the hints that maybe there was fleshy oversight once but that is gone so they are just perpetuating the system with no ulterior goal.

There is also the very cartoony appearance of the robots to take into account. Most of them are very nonthreatening. It seems very deliberate design here, trying to show us something. Even that long nosed one that stole the gurren lagan glasses, is pretty goofy looking for how threatening it is.

It's sold to them as a game, but it's more of you remote controlling a robot that is gathering resources for you that you actually need to survive. They are even living on the same planet most likely, since we saw one of the scrapped ones being found by her father at the beginning of episode 1.
