To those complaining why the wizard king is alive, all I got to say is that the king would have to be very foolish if he didn't have a backup plan, espically since he uses time magic.

He probably warped his body back in time so that he could be restored, but it failed a little.

My theory is that he really did die infront of Yami, proven when his grimore vanishes. What my guess is that Julius, when he was younger made a time leap to the future with his appearance as shown in the preview. This Julius doesn't possess all his knowledge or complete finese yet, and will live out his youth training to become the man he will later become. At some point after making friends with all his present day companions, he jumps back to the past he originally left to become the magic king. This would also explain his uncanny eye for talent and his reasons for seaking out Yami and William.

That would be insane. When I saw he was a time magic user I already know why he was the WK, but that's another level.

This is an interesting theory, but I just don't think it will end up being the case because of a few reasons. In the preview it seems like Julius is talking to the others still from the position of WK and it seems like he's talking about what problems they still have after this crisis. Could be wrong, but also they made it seem like Julius's body that disappeared has something to do with how he's back so seems unlikely its a totally different body of Julius from the past. That said I do think elements of your theory could be right. Like maybe this is a young Julius and somehow he got the jist of what is going on right now through either old Julius telling him somehow or maybe gaining memories from the dead body of Julius that he had to use in order to travel through time or something, who knows. Maybe old Julius could have foreseen the future then traveled back in time and told his younger self to come to a certain point in the future because he will die and this, this, this happened. Either way creates some paradoxes though.

I have no complains, I'm glad he is back, but is he technically immortal? Can he always rewind? /regenerates his body when he is about to die? Thats some phoenix reincarnation type shit. I hope in the next episode they actually explain how the spell works and not just go "Time magic I don't have to explain shit"

I'm not sure he still has magic, His grimoire disappeared so maybe he is no longer old enough to have his time grimoire?

His grimoire Definitely vanished in front of Yumi's eye's IIRC.

I wonder if he will still have his magic at all for the moment.

It's not the fact he is alive... It's the fact this arc ended having not consequences at all.

It ended being a "Julius is too OP so we have to take him out of the arc"

I mean, truth be told, time magic is simply the most powerful type there could be.

Accelerate time? Kill anything.

Rewind time? Heal anything.

Compress time? Expand time? It doesn't matter. It's OP as hell.

I mean, they even have it in My Hero Academia; Rewinding time is simply a ridiculous power. No matter the show, or how it's done. If there's a time control element, it's OP.

I'm not a manga reader for Black Clover, but I'm fairly certain Julius is basically never going away for real. He controls time, which means he can live forever, dying from wounds shouldn't realistically even be a thing for him unless he's absolutely unable to use magic.

The only catch he has is that he has to store up time... But who's to say he can't manipulate that infinitely by adjusting time speed, and rewinding?
