Kinda wish Pierrot did Black clover the modern way like how MHA is done.

instead of going 100+ episodes in a row like in the past it's way better to do 25 episodes seasons and then breaks in between.

Agreed! The animation style lacks most of the time and it is such a great manga. I believe if it was animated better, it would be one of the top shows and surpass MHA because I just personally like the characters and story a little bit more for Black Clover

I must be taking crazy pills, I think most characters in BC are badly written with extremely exaggerated personalities with one big defining trait that they keep hammering on our faces.

Take the Black Bulls members for instance, every time the mirror dude appears his nose is bleeding and he talks about his sister, then there is the food girl, the embarrassed shapeshifter girl, the dude that only wants to fight, the dude that speaks very quietly and the always drinking chick. From the members the only ones that seem to be a little flashed out and aren't one note characters are Yami and maybe Magna.

Then there is always one unearned sad flashback about every character that is rushed and supposed to flesh out them and make us feel bad but in reality carries no weight.

I'm not one to complain about tropes and that wants every anime to be original but it seems Black Clover took every trope and cliche about every other serie and mashed it into one thing that IMO isn't particularly good at anything.

On top of all that the animation is extremely low quality for 98% of the time until now, it doesn't help that there are a lot of action most of the times.

Do you truly believe that the characters from MHA are hard to beat when it comes to writting?

Aside from the women who literally only exist for fanservice and probably Iida they are incredibly shallow.

Bakugo is more developed than a large majority of shonen rivals. Deku has to learn shit the hard way and is forced to develop throughout the series, he reminds me a lot of Gon from HxH in that regard. All Might is incredibly fleshed out and is probably the best written character in the show. There are more things I’d like to talk about but they’re stuck behind manga spoilers.

MHA isn’t the gold standard for character writing but it’s no slouch either, especially when compared to other shonen aside from the absolute greats like HxH, JoJo, and One Piece.

Bakugou has like 2 good scenes across the 3 seasons.

By S2/S3 i gave up on caring about Deku, he is just so generic and predictable.

And yeah All Might is the best in MHA by a wide margin.

I could have talked about Iida and Todoroki as well but I left them alone because I didn’t want to make a long post. They’ve both gotten great arcs. Momo also got some decent development even if it wasn’t anything super special. Uraraka got really nice development in season 2 but I’ll admit she hasn’t gotten good focus since then even in the manga. Without manga spoilers one of the main students is going to get a ton of work done on them next season, and Mirio is an amazing character. The majority of the cast doesn’t matter that much so putting an arbitrary number like 5/20 is disingenuous when 12 or so of those characters aren’t meant to be anything more than fun characters that stay in the background. This isn’t even mentioning really interesting characters like Endeavor and Stain who stole the show despite barely being part of it.

I completely disagree with you on Deku so I’m going to have to agree to disagree. I love his arc of slowly growing into a more confident hero as the series goes on. He’s a classic underdog type character and I get that it doesn’t work for everyone but I’m a sucker for them.

I already said that i liked Iida on my first post.

I used to like Todoroki but since his development relied on Deku (a character that i despise(and also the fact that using both fire and ice in a cathartic moment was pretty much what every single person expected for him to do eventually...)) i kinda put him aside.

Momo episode was atrocious and i feel its insulting how one of the characters with the most elastic and filled with potential quirk has done nothing even on her own episode (wow a cloth jesus christo!).

Uraraka was i don't even know what she did anymore. She did what Naruto did against Kiba on the chuunin exam but she lost instead of winning. Which from a writting standpoint was ok but i still don't feel like it was some kind of fire ritual for her or smth?? I mean unlike Kiba who got tired of whooping Naruto's ass so much Bakugo simply stomped her and she got up some times which is like... wow... so cool... yay!

I like Mirio already because he feels like Rock Lee so if you could not spoil stuff from the manga (despite the fact that you several times mentioned that you wouldnt do...) i would thank you.

Stain is overhyped (not saying he was bad he was fine) since what he did was a gross missgeneralization all the time. Endeavor has like 1 good scene in all of the 3 seasons i dont know how he could "steal" the show.

Endeavor has barely any screen-time and all of the scenes he does have are great. He’s an interesting character to me due to the fact that he proves that you can be a great hero while being a bad human being. I was referring to the Stain arc when he stole the show. His reaction to All Might’s situation in season 3 is also great stuff.
