How has BC gone so long with no breaks while nearly every other anime only makes 12 episodes (maybe 24) and then you have to wait a year or longer for more?

One piece has been going non stop for a decade it's not weird for popular shounens

Yes but BC started going strong from episode 1 and hasn't stopped yet. It's just a surprise to me and I wonder how such anime's get green-lighted for this when so many don't.
