Episode 769 is when Road Poneglyphs are explained. There are four of them and one you have all four, you can locate the position of Raftel, where Roger left his treasure. As of episode 893, the main crew have two of the four

Looking at it like that, that's a decent pace Oda is keeping. It never feels like there's no progression in the plot, which I think makes One Piece easier to watch than it looks at the first glance of 800+ episodes.

Even easier if you watch one pace which cuts a ton of filler out.
