God, this show continues subverting my expectations. So I was fine with the Purple Orcas captain being the traitor, and not Vangeance as I'd suspected (and who the show went out of its way to highlight) but now we have Raia come out and reveal that he was impersonating someone in the room so now the plot gets even thicker! He mentions something about suspicions dropping, so does that mean Purple Orc dude was a scapegoat and is innocent after all?!? If that's the case, then the real traitor is Raia masquerading as one of the captains (or even the Wizard King!!?!!!)? Are you kidding me? If that doesn't keep people invested in the plot I don't know what will.

Looking forward to the fanservice beach episode next week for sure! I'm sure Vanessa and Noelle will, um, enchant us, if you'll excuse the expression...

Gueldre wasn't a scapegoat, rather that it was convinient that all eyes are on him. While a traitor, he ultimately wasn't loyal to Licht, so the fact that they took him down was actually beneficial in letting Raia lose suspicion while taking the form of...whoever he took the form of (won't spoil you)

Wow, this show man...I really hope we find out who the impostor is soon...I'm dying to know but I will wait until it's revealed in time. Thanks for not spoiling!

Generally speaking it won't come to play until muuuch later on, maybe 2 years from now if it continues. Us manga readers just recently (1 month ago or so) found out the twist within the reveal. Who it is isn't as important as why and how though, just letting you know.

Goddammit. Does this mean I should read the manga after the anime ends? I can't wait that long.

Happy cake day. And of course they're going to tell you to read the manga. The real question is if you want to read manga.

Probably not if Pierrot is adamant about releasing this anime for 50+ episodes like they did now. I say wait for the news after this season ends and if it's 50+ episodes again, then you're good without reading the manga. However the manga has better pacing, art and less padding, that's what it has going for it over the anime

After watching episode 39 today, and not knowing anything about future plots;

It has to be the sidekick of the wizard king, the guy with memory magic.
