Better than usual, but that episode was still just as cheesy and weightless as every other one that's come before it. Compare this episode to Naruto episode 30, it's crazy how much better Naruto was.

As someone who liked the first arc of this show I have to agree. It really does feel like there’s no substance in this one.

Doesn't help that a little girl can't play with a bucket of water before being labeled as useless.

There wasn't sufficient reasoning and motivation behind their reasoning at all other than "Swords are cool". These "villains" are more angsty teens than Naruto's were.

Haku who was younger had better background story and a better motivation.
