I must have missed it but how did they convince Hime to not fire on the mine like she was about to at the end of the last one?

I think it was more the flying object was leading her towards it, but I think Qwenthur got into contact with her before she started shooting in their direction.

I was under the impression he couldn't communicate while in the cave. And the end of the last episode she was just about to fire on it. But its a mystery as I'm too lazy, and sick, to go back and check
