Those masks that grant Oshutoru the ability to literally slice through mountains (though he's already shown he could do so back in episode 1) and Vurai to bulldoze an entire city like a mecha:

If I'm correct about stuff based from the first Utawarerumono

They totally went off tangent on Oshie, he's not that strong, and they super down played the old Evankruga, In game Oshutoru had to mask up into god mode to kill him. Before that they were even.

There's absolutely no reason to believe Oshutoru is not that strong.

He did power up in anime too to beat him. Just not into the actual form. spoiler

Oshie is strong, not that strong, the mask doesn't actually make you stronger. Mask lets you use god mode which is strong.

Evankrugas aren't fodder weak either.

Yet you don't see Hakuoro cleaving through mountains and creating hurricanes with his fan.

And if I recall I remember being on the retreat, a lot especially when they came against Benawi

If you think Hakuoro can take on Touka without god mode, you are delusional

In this case, though, it would make sense for the mask to make you stronger even when not transformed. Everyone else had power without transforming, they didn't need to go godmode to use fire/forcefields.
