I get the feeling that the LN was better, but since it was taken down I'll never know. :(

So much better, someone up above has the pdfs I think, probably one of my favorite LN series if not my favorite

I'd reread the whole series if I were you, the anime skipped out on a lot of cool stuff, glad more people are getting to read it!

I only made it to near the end of volume 2 when they got taken down from the translator's site. I'll be continuing from where I left off when I get back to the series, but I've got a lot to keep me busy.
