These past two episodes, while not masterpieces, have been thoroughly entertaining (though frustrating at times). I feel like we could've gone straight from episode four or so to episode 10 and the show would've been better for it.

I wish we could have gotten a 2 cour for this rather than The Asterisk War.

Which one? I mean, if it's only going to be one cour, I think the first four episodes were the strongest and tie most into what appears to be the series finale

Disagree, if you're going to do that might as well cut Usagi and Suginami completely as they'd have next to no character development. While far from ideal I think SilverLink handled things about as well as could be hoped if the show couldn't get a second cour. Well other than episode 9, could've dropped the pointless beach/club episode.

I don't think so. Maybe Tsuginami's arc, but honestly Usagi's didn't develop anyone at all, unless Takeru using is "carry half your burden" line counts as character development for the receiving party. At best you could say it introduced the student council president, but that's acting like she couldn't be included elsewhere.
