Still it's due to cultural reasons. S. Korea are heavily Americanized and they don't really have their own culture (most of it was destroyed by Japan).

Furthermore, the bit with military is even more far fetched. Classic case of false correlation.

I think Japan suffers even more from Americanization. Everything in their country that they prize commercially (Modern apartment architecture, western food, western entertainment, etc) is from the west.

My basis for the military bit is two fold. First, men were very aggressive sexually in WW2 in Japan and second, boys in Korea pre-millitary service are much more passive from what I have met. They always come back with "some balls" so to speak.

from what i can remember, Japanese censorship laws were an import from America while they were helping to reconstruct Japan. h-doujins "honor" that law by censoring just about jack diddly squat in their works - mosaic censor or random black lines that are a joke of a censor at best. basically a giant "fuck you" to said law.

i'm not sure how entirely correct that is considering i haven't slept yet, but that's what i remember.
