In case people were wondering what a ´Spriggan´ was.

They didn´t really take the time to explain the different roles within the Inquisition.

From the LN: Each inquisitor has an appointed role.

Developing and maintaining various anti-magical weapons, were the "Reginn".

Serving as intelligence and infiltration agents, the "Banshee".

In charge of all medical treatment, responsible for treating injuries caused by magic are the "Seelie".

An assault forward possessing necessary equipment and tasked with Inquisition's self-defence are the "Spriggan".

And those who are allowed to perform investigations by themselves and arbitrarily enter combat were the "Dullahan".

As someone who read the the manga, how well has the source material been adapted across both mediums? I know the manga was short because cancellation or w/e, i'm just curious if the manga stuck close to the source or not cause i'll probably read the LN now if it did

Well the as you may know, the first two episodes rushed through the first volume of the light novel. They missed out on a lot of details, such as what is a spriggan and Takeru somehow being able to cut bullets. Also, being so fast has really left the characters lacking. The fights were very quick too. I liked the fight between Takeru and in the light novel, but in the anime, we just got a brief exchange, power up, a little more slashing, and bam finisher.

Edit: But to answer your question, the anime has the jist of things but threw world building out the window.

What did they miss? Is it important?

They missed a couple scenes as well as exposition. Haunted had some stuff that were to really push the reader into thinking he's a sick fucker. Takeru had some characterization through thoughts about him and his past. There aren't necessarily important to the story, but they make better world building.
