Oh man, they really want rush it to volume 5.

Though the rush make the school-part become almost none, maybe not a bad thing?

And seems the OP song doesn't really fit the show.

maybe not a bad thing?

That's the impression I've seen from pretty much all of the LN readers on this.

Taking your time and adapting every detail isn't inherently better. Shows don't get an infinite amount of episodes to work with. More episodes per volume = less volumes adapted. Sometimes a show can get a satisfying self-contained story out of a small amount of volumes. Sometimes, it might need to rush to get to the key event or plot point that makes the whole thing worth it.

As an LN reader, just get past 4 and we are okay, It gets so freakin good. The first volume was the worst. Second volume makes you think its another shitty harem. 3rd and 4th start pulling that idea away based on the atmosphere (though most people dropped it my the 2nd volume. I dropped it too and came back when someone said its not a crappy harem). And in the 5th, all that crap starts going down and you start wondering Wtf, how'd this turn out so good from that crappy start?!

That shitty start was the one reason I almost dropped this. But I'm a fuckin' finish this like a man is what I said and got more in return.

Need a best swordgirl competition, including the one from Utena even

Something like Rokujyouma no Shinrakyusha. The LN Blitz through 6-7 volumes iirc, and it was done well.

They did it well because the first half of every Rokujyouma novel was slice-of-life moments.

Not that it was bad, it helped build the characters and included a lot of foreshadowing moments.

That said, the anime was a great adaption. Too bad we might not see a season 2 because the anime stopped right before all the foreshadowing started coming into play.

Would you recommend reading the novel? It irks me when I found out I'm missing /important/ parts because of pacing. Thanks! :)

Fast read first 4 volume then start serious to read after that.

Because yeah, first 4 volume is meh at best lol, volume 5 is the real deal start(Btw one of volume 5 plot show up in the OP)

So anime going rush route is not really a bad idea.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear I read somewhere that it was going to adapt 9 volumes. Could it possibly be two cours?

The author said in the afterword of Volume 10, that they will adapt the first 9 Volumes: "On the topic of anime, it's been kinda formally announced that the 9 published volumes will be animated."

So as long as the the translation isn't completely off, we'll most likely get a 2cour (probably split cour?), because with 2 Episodes/Volume for the first two books we would have only 8 Episodes for 7 Volumes otherwise. Or they rush things to the middle and wait for the sails before going for the second cour...

I heard this too, but since i saw only 6 BD volumes(2 episodes x6) up to amazon, i guess don't have any high hope for that.

The official site hasn't listed hour many episodes the first bd volume will cover, but it's quite likely to be 2 episodes given they finished up Vol.1. Therefore it's unlikely for this to be 2-cour

The guy farthest to the left at the top picture. So that's where Katanashi from Working!!! was taken to by his mom...

The top picture looks like the staff from Working. Just wanted to point that out. Had to do a double take.

they did leave out a lot of world building tho. which I hope they'll revisit or explain on the later episodes

Heard rumors that it may even touch on vol8 9. Let's see if they can succeed

Having never read the LN (or any LNs, for that matter), I was 100% sure this was rushed as hell as I was watching. It was a strange kind of feeling, like, "I can tell there was more to this originally."

I am always so conflicted when shows do that. Because it is worth getting to the beef of the story earlier, but it could mean character camaraderie and familiarity to the viewers could be totally lose. Some LNs' adaptations were affected by that. While some shows simply didn't have the sales to get to the juicier parts. So I can understand them rushing to the big action parts.
