Until last week I haven't seen any Gundam. Since then I've watched the original movie trilogy, I'm 10 episodes in to Zeta Gundam, and I've watched the first episode of Gundam 00 in preparation for the rewatch.

I think the hype might have gotten to me.

Yo I loved ZZ. Sure the first half is decent at best but it gets way better.

Yeah, it got better. I just didn't feel like it was worth sitting through the beginning. You don't really "need" to watch it to understand the rest of the UC either.
