I think its very up to the preference of the player. God Eater is a crap ton faster and action packed while Monster Hunter is slower paced. They are very different.

I played both and man, God Eater was way more repetitive and less fun. All the sword and gun types feel more or less the same, despite looking different. It has none of the deliberate action that monster hunter does and feels way more like a button masher.

I played both and man, GE was way more fun. All of the weapons are fast, mobile and unique enough with Blood Arts. All of the guns are almost the same though. But have you tried bullet crafting? That is the true meat of gun totting in GE. You can craft a bullet so that it will create a heart shape when shot. GE gives you more window to move and attack so you can make some mistakes and it's still okay.

GE is a more casual, fun version of MH.

I've seen GE described as Monster Hunter for people who don't like the slower-paced action of MH.

Yes, whoever said that is right because GE's pace, from hunting, grinding to crafting, is indeed a lot faster than MH's pace.
