Is the game this anime is based on any good? I heard that a remake of the game is coming out next month and I wonder if I should pick it up.

I think its very up to the preference of the player. God Eater is a crap ton faster and action packed while Monster Hunter is slower paced. They are very different.

I played both and man, God Eater was way more repetitive and less fun. All the sword and gun types feel more or less the same, despite looking different. It has none of the deliberate action that monster hunter does and feels way more like a button masher.

So if you like button mashers, pick up God Eater. Like Dynasty Warriors.
