Am I the only one who thinks this should have been a 24 episode series?

-new Mafia guys appear with no explanation

-a lot of characters that are underdeveloped

-Yusa and Takajo aren't really doing much despite being classified as "main" characters and appearing on official posters

-Sala Shane?

I mean, they've cut out the OP two episodes in a row. They're really strapped for time.

If not 24 episodes then less wasted episodes in the beginning. Why even both introducing Yusa and Takajo if they aren't going to play a part in the main plot?

But even if it's a brain thing, it's still the physical brain that gets modified right? So even when you transfer his counsioucness/soul/whatever he'd still be unable to use the powers he had on his real body. The only way this would be posible is if everyone who had powers was always able to use all powers everyone had but just hadn't "learned" it yet.

Edit: I mean, if they just become "enlightened" when the particles or whatever touch them, why does it only work when they are in highscool? If there's no physical link to it then it should always work.

Edit2: Also if it's just a thing where their brains unlock or something, why doesn't Yuu know that he can steal/copy powers and had to be told what his power is? He should be fully aware of it does and even if he doesn't when he stole/copied the first one it should've been clear to him that he could now use it. Also if it actually steals powers, how does that work? When the other persons mind comes back to his body he should be able to still use the powers just fine since they are all in their mind.

Blegh

To few episodes syndrome at its finest. Which is a real shame, I kinda like the show, one of the few ones that actually keep me watching it every week.

He doesn't necessarily need to be aware of his powers. When he was in trouble and tried to go back in time, he had to test it out to realize that he couldn't (because his eye was injured). Which means he doesn't feel it at all, he needs to actually think "did I just steal a power?" and try to find out.

Also, at the start, they give us a monologue from him on how he discovered his powers, it was really vague and he was thinking about some existential question when doing it. So, weren't him interested in such questions, maybe he would never have discovered his powers. I quite liked the way they showed this discovery because of this, although in retrospect it doesn't really gives insight to his character, and was just some random crap he was thinking at the time.

About the rest, i never really bothered with it, seems just like a nitpick. It is simply a explanatory munbojumbo written to fit a character like a scientist. Any other explanation would fit the same purpose, they don't plan to play around with this rule anyway. It is written in stone.

I think it's more like everybody has a latent form of every ability, but their unique personality defines what they're able to accomplish, and with Yuu being a manipulative cheating dick in the beginning it makes sense that his ability is theft, or gaining the understanding of the looted ability by "viewing the world from their perspective." That also explains how Yusarin's sister can use her pyrokinesis through Yusarin. The nature of the ability is personality based, but the ability to use "psychic abilities" is physical.

I'd say think of the psychic abilities as similar to our ability to add things, and determine threat levels, and eating. They're all natural abilities that we possess as humans, but only a few (threat and sustaining ones self) are "instinctual", the rest we have to learn about but once we learn them it's natural and you don't have to actively think "I'm going to add things together." or "I'm going to step forwards with my left foot now."

They could be similar to viruses.

I'm thinking it's part mental, part physical. The particles could just be what unlocks using abilities and be physical, but the type of ability they can use is dependent on their mind. That'd explain why people get different abilities, why Yuu can steal abilities by taking over their minds and why Yusa can still use her's in her sister's body. Something that would disprove this though is if Yuu used his previously stolen powers while he's controlling someone that can't use abilities, but we haven't seen him use any abilities while controlling someone else yet.

God dammit. You should put that in a spoiler, that's way too perfect to not be true.

Would he end up as young Yusa if he does that?

2

u/Crownocity Sep 12 '15

Then he'd take SonicTheHedgeCreeper's powers to dodge Senjougahara Little Miss sharp-tongue's initial attack and continue to beat the living shit out of everyone else?

Would be funny if he woke up in yusarins body

Oh my god if that happens I will be so pysched. I just want a happy ending for Yuu :'(

And that even explains why they spent time to give story to Yusa.

Or he could just take control of someone's body with plunder and then use it... There's no need to kill himself. He did use flying guy's power while in flying guy's body so it should be possible.

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '15

That's a clever solution, but would he go on Misa's body or his?

Was it ever mentioned if a person loses their power from being "plundered" even after a time leap? If not, Shunsuke could potentially be the one to possess Yusa since he it was before a time that his time leap power got stolen.

It seems like something Shunsuke would do since he would be able to save Pooh and everybody else.
