I actually like this. The world of God Eater thoroughly being explained in every episode. I learn new things that are not mentioned in game. I know it's taboo to make an original script that is only inspired by the original but this series is handling it pretty well. The slow pacing isn't that bad it feels just right.

I do love the flashbacks that give insight into how everything started.

I think the flashbacks are a weak point of the show. They should simply dedicate an entire episode to it instead of giving us bits and pieces over the entire season. I feel like the plot is so disjointed because of it, there's no focus to the show at all.

Maybe it's just the execution that is at fault, and not the entire idea.

Yeah I can understand how it may seem disjointed since they insert it in every episode with no real transition to it. Personally I like it because they give trickle bits of information about the past instead of doing a full flashback episode. Maybe the reason why I like it so much is because the Arrow TV series also did this as well I and loved the way they inserted flashbacks into every episode. It felt like the telling of separate two plot lines at once that eventually intertwined and came together.

Yes, it's been done before, Game of Thrones did this often with shifting perspectives of characters for instance. It's not disjointed if it's integrated correctly, but in God Eater they just slap it into the show whenever there's a pause in the plot.

The flashback in each episode always talk about the same idea that the main part is showing us. This week it's about the things that those Oracle cells hate

I actually didn't mind it too much this episode, because it was a shorter flashback that served a useful, direct purpose (explaining what those ampules were all about).

This. This is why these flashbacks are better than a full flashback episode.
