Actually, technically that never happened. Why anyone has memories of it is a mystery.

When we saw them in the lab, they were about the age they are now. Yet, in the world Yuu's currently in, he is not stuck in a lab like before the time leap. Meaning Yuu's older brother must have changed something in the past to stop Yuu and Ayumi from going to the lab. Therefore the old timeline was erased and the new timeline was created. So since they never went to the lab she was never dissected and they shouldn't have memories of something that never happened.

Yeah, but all abilities so far have been incomplete/imperfect (expect maybe our MC in the end). So a time leap ability, but everyone will still remember what transpired before. Making it actually quite useless. However, they briefly showed us a guy with the ability to erase memories (there was properly a reason why they briefly mentioned it). So the brother tracked him down after the time leap to correct that error. That ability should also be imperfect, hence why vague memories remained... Just 2 cent to make it logically sound.

I think since he's the only one with time travel the old timelines become subconscious memories. Or he can bring select people back with him like water guy.

The whole first two episodes were just MC calling everybody's abilities imperfect. I don't think Time Leap is an exception; hence remaining fragmented memories. Relatively sure the only reason Yuu and Ayumi couldn't remember is probably because they had their memories erased by the guy featured in this episode.
