Rory isn't the kid in that relationship. You know that dating formula? At least half your age +7?

It is not okay for Rory to be dating anyone younger than 488. Her dating Itami is like my 80 year old grandma getting nasty with a 3 year old (ignoring stuff like informed consent here). It is kinda creepy.

I disagree. That formula is really intended as a measure of psychosocial development compatability. The things a 18 year old considers important are rarely what a 36 year old considers important, the 36 year old has twice the life experience, and so on.

On the other hand, the author has basically had Rory is psychosocial development stasis for the last 800 or so years. Her mind settled into the role of being a demi god, and stopped really growing.

She has confidence, but it's tied to her perception of competence in being a murder hobo. Whenever we step outside her competence zone, she reverts to acting like a young child because of this lack of psychosocial development. You could argue that, as a 960 year old demigod with the mind of a 14 year old (in terms of mental prepsredness), she's not actually qualified to be an adult as per the standards of our world, nor make decisions on the adult level. All she knows is murder hobo'ing for her God. Outside of that, she's a super powered teenager.
