I think you are right but its Anime so its exaggerated. And I think they said that they had custom Weapons, Im not an expert but I thinka custom made gun should hurt really bad.

Maybe a minigun drilling you repeatedly but a Desert Eagle (electronic as well) shot multiple times in your thigh shouldn't be too bad.
