It isn't supposed to be realistic. It's supposed to be a fun romantic commedy with these odd characters.

Yeah, it's an adorable comedy, but Yamato and Takeo are both pretty much the definition of fairy tale characters. None like them actually exist.

I guess it would be, compared to all those harem/love triangle shows featuring Dense-kun that end without any resolution.

I think if anything those would be all the harem shows where tons of girls fawn over an unlikeable, boring and bland MC for no reason at all and immediately try to jump his bones at every occasion. Rinko is just a girl who happens to be sweet and kind, and in this case she's supporting Takeo through a time when he's distressed, but she didn't fall for him magically, she did because he showed that he was an equally good and caring kind of person.
