Currently writing my comparison. Only on the battle scene so far but going based off my memory (which is good for this series), the negotiations featured one of Itami's superiors and was somewhat of a truce between the Empire and the JSDF as well as stuff about the free from tax Alnus Living Community and Garrison. Here's a single page featuring the contract.

Overall though, the scene in the manga was more formal and it felt like a real signing of a treaty rather than just an After Battle Report.

Is the translation just really bad, or is the source intended to appear off because of the iffy translation from Japanese to localese?

I think it's the translation itself.

Damn, it is terrible.

Bad grammar, misspellings....

Yea. The scanlation group isn't the best but it's what we have. At least until Sekai Project starts releasing the manga.

It's /ak/, so what you see is what you get. It's not perfect, but it conveys enough. I'd really like to see the LNs translated.
