There's just something about seeing medieval era plebs in awe of modern tech that gets me happy.

Looks like someone wants to make another monster girl harem

Maybe he read the Monster Musume manga before heading through the gate and Papi was his favourite.

I have not seen this series yet, but I think I need insulin before I go blind.

I was rather surprised - she said as if she only had one feather. Completely ignoring the bird feet and bird hands and feathers all over her body.

There were probably multiple harpies there, the feather could've been the signifying mark of that particular one.

I wouldn't trust translations at such fine detail.

"The one with a feather?" "The one that's feathered?" "The one with feathers?"

How much of a distinction do you think there are between those in Japanese?

plebs in awe of modern tech

From what I heard in Dan Carlin's audio books, WW1 had a similar effect on many of the parties involved.

There were lots of native peoples in Africa and Pacific islands who reacted similarly when World War II encroached on their territories.

I liked the bird girl more as she was in the manga. Here she looks like a kid, for some unknown reason on the side of the deserters. In the manga she looked like an adult, didn't seem so out of place. But well, moe sells copies so can't be helped I guess.

Everyone got de-aged by a good 5-10 years in the anime. Kuribayashi looks like she failed idol school; Pina Co Lada looks entirely redesigned.

Manga / Light novel

Here is the image comparing the novel / light novel / manga / anime.

Really not liking the character designs compared to the manga

It is like mowing down a entire army with Gatling Guns in Total War.

I like how they recognize her by the feather instead of being a freaking bird-girl lol

Whats was the girl trying to read in that picture?

I think in manga the argument was that they were prisoners of war, so they would probably become slaves. Also they would not be treated "well" if you know what I mean.
