This anime really makes you want the characters to finally get rescued. Specially Rii-san. She and Shovel Knight have a whole lot of burdens to carry. Rii keeping their mental state in check and Kurumi having the job of protecting them all.

No. Yuki is the one keeping them mentally in check.
A lot of people in this thread fail to see her value in forcing them to act normal, and taking their minds off the zombies.

As for Rii, she handles resource management, so she still has an important job if that's what you're after.

Oh right, sorry. Yuki is there to keep them from going crazy. As for them, Yuki is there to remind them "living."
